Ohio State March Madness Odds: Can the Buckeyes Avoid Getting Bounced Early?

Ohio State March Madness Odds: Can the Buckeyes Avoid Getting Bounced Early?
It hasn't been a great finish to the regular season for Ohio State. The Buckeyes lost four of their last five games in the Big 10 and now have to take on the MVC Champions in the Loyola Chicago Ramblers in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. That game is in the South Region with Ohio State as a 7-seed taking on Loyola Chicago who is a 10 seed.
Ohio State doesn't have much momentum but they do have one of the best players in the country in E.J. Liddell. That certainly will help. Below are some of the odds on Ohio State, if you're looking to bet them.

The Buckeyes haven't looked great and lost their first Big 10 Tournament game which won't help when it comes to momentum. Meanwhile, Loyola Chicago won the MVC as a four-seed and probably wouldn't have made the tournament without winning the conference tournament.
With their backs up against the wall, Loyola Chicago found a way. I'd want to back Loyola more as the Ramblers are more of a complete team. Ohio State's defense is suspect right now, allowing a ton of three-pointers to fall while failing to force turnovers.

Final Four
Ohio State Odds (+2500) (Bet $100 to Win $2,500)
It's not likely that Ohio State will reach the Final Four. The Buckeyes would need to first beat Loyola Chicago has underdogs and then would probably be underdogs throughout the rest of the tournament as well.
In the NCAA Tournament, there are always a couple of players that play out of their minds to help their team make a run in the tournament. Liddell could be that guy but we've seen him takeover before. It's just that the defense doesn't get stops when they need it the most.
National Championship
Ohio State Odds (+25000) (Bet $100 to Win $25,000)
The Buckeyes played elite competition in the Big 10 this season. Maybe that helped them prepare for this moment. However, the slate for Ohio State just doesn't excite me. It turns into a hard gauntlet for Ohio State with the Buckeyes needing to win countless games as underdogs.
The defense has struggled this year to make much impact and therefore will hurt Ohio State in the long run. There's no chance Ohio State wins the tournament.
