Houston March Madness Odds: Will Houston Make a Huge Run for the Second Straight Season?
The Houston Cougars lost Tramon Mark and Marcus Sasser earlier this season to season-ending injuries. However, even without those two players, Houston found a way to win the AAC and clinch a spot into March Madness 2022.
Houston has played elite offense and defense throughout the season. But can the Cougars maintain that level of play against NCAA Tournament-level teams? Below are some of the odds on Houston, if you're looking to bet them.

First Round Game
Spread: Houston -8.5 (-105) (Bet $105 to Win $100)
Moneyline (-400) vs. 12. UAB (Bet $400 to Win $100)
The Houston Cougars are holding opponents to a 43.5% effective field goal percentage with teams shooting just 29% from deep and 43.5% from inside the arc.
Houston is shooting a 53.6% effective field goal percentage on the offensive end while earning 37.8% offensive rebounds. Inside the arc, Houston has also hit 55.1% of shots this season and continues to limit turnovers.
UAB, on the other hand, can shoot the lights out of the ball from deep but don't often take a lot of volume from shots beyond the perimeter. If UAB elects to try and score inside, the Blazers will have trouble scoring consistently against Houston.

Final Four
Houston +600 (Bet $100 to Win $600)
Despite being a five seed, Houston is +600 to make the Final Four. Houston would have to first beat UAB and then potentially beat Illinois along with Arizona. After Arizona, Houston would likely have to get through Villanova, which will also be extremely hard.
It's a tough group of games for Houston. Eventually, the offense might let them down. But the defense and effort will always be there, giving Houston a very solid chance.
National Championship
Houston +4000 (Bet $100 to Win $4000)
Houston is one of the dozen teams that have a chance at the championship. This team is efficient on both sides of the ball. But the lack of a primary scorer could bite them as legs get tired and the offense starts to fade.
I like Houston to at least make the Sweet 16, beating UAB, and then Illinois or Chattanooga. But the chances that Houston then beats Arizona, to me are slim. If Houston was in a different region, the Cougars would have a better chance and the odds would be more valuable.
