1. Indiana Hoosiers
I've been betting on Indiana all season long. I like this team. But they're overhyped. They'll let you down when you least expect it.
Indiana has lost four of their last nine games and had a chance to make the Big Ten Championship game with a win over Penn State. And they couldn't do it.
2. Virginia Cavaliers
I hate to be that guy. But Virginia is not it. Not this year. Virginia has struggled on the offensive glass and only shoots 70.1% from the foul line. That's not good enough. The defense is terrific, and the offense will at least limit turnovers.
But they're not efficient enough on the offensive end.
3. Kentucky Wildcats
Kentucky's blue blood. People will pick them to go far in the NCAA Tournament as long as John Calipari is there.
But don't do it. Kentucky's season fell short in the SEC due to Vanderbilt. They couldn't beat Vanderbilt multiple times and even have a loss to South Carolina and Georgia mixed in. They'll let you down too.
4. San Diego State Aztecs
The Aztecs really have a good defense. But the offense won't do enough. Not when they play top-tier opponents from other power-five conferences.
The Aztecs have hit just 49.4% from inside the arc this season and allow teams to earn steals 9.4% of the time. That's not good enough.
5. Baylor Bears
Baylor's got a great group of guards and an overall solid team of offensive players. But the defense is problematic.
Baylor has allowed 31.1% of offensive rebounds and has allowed teams to shoot 53.3% from inside the arc. The offense is impressive, but the defense will let all of their backers down.
6. TCU Horned Frogs
The TCU Horned Frogs will be without Eddie Lampkin for the foreseeable future. They've played without him many times this year, but it won't help TCU inside.
The offense also shoots 30.6% from downtown and has hit only 70.1% of foul shots this season. On defense, teams have added 30.7% of offensive rebounds. Without Lampkin, it could get worse.
7. Tennessee Volunteers
Tennessee won't have Zakai Zeigler at point guard after he tore his ACL. That will sting for this offense. They're already shooting just 32.9% from downtown and hitting only 71.4% from the foul line.
The Vols have also watched over 10% of possessions result in a steal. Without their primary ball handler, that number could rise.
8. West Virginia Mountaineers
West Virginia's pressure will either do wonders or hurt them. Eventually, I think it'll bite them. The Mountaineers are fouling at a very high rate and turn the ball over 18.5% on the offensive end.
They'll struggle to squeeze out wins if they run into a team with great foul shooting and limited turnovers.
