Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury Odds: August Date Set For Saudi Arabia Fight

Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury Date Set
Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury is the heavyweight boxing fight that the world has been waiting for. The all-British affair has been talked about for years but it's now finally closer to happening. Eddie Hearn, Anhtony Joshua's promoter has revealed that the undisputed fight for all of their belts, will be taking place in August.
Eddie Hearn told British sports website Sky Sports that the fight would take place on either August 7 or August 14 this year. The talks have dragged on for months which had led to some believing that the fight would not happen.
The 7th is the final day of the Olympic Games, so it makes sense to avoid that big worldwide event, not only that but Anthony Joshua's trainer Rob McCracken will be part of Team GB at the Olympics and these dates would allow him to be in Anthony Joshua's corner.
Only earlier this week we saw both fighters get involved in another spat on Twitter after Anthony Joshua had told Tyson Fury to get the fight sorted.
Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury Set For Saudi Arabia
There had been reports that the fight could take place at Wembley Stadium in the UK or even in Las Vegas but Eddie Hearn has confirmed that it will take place in Saudi Arabia.
"I think it's a very bad secret that the fight's happening in Saudi Arabia. I don't mind giving you that information, Bob Arum's already done it."
Saudi Arabia hosted Anthony Joshua's rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr and Hearn hailed the "fantastic" organisers.
Interestingly Tyson Fury has also fought in Saudi Arabia too, however it wasn't in a boxing ring. In October 2019, shortly before his fight against Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury beat Braun Strowman at a WWE event in the country.
Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury Odds
Tyson Fury is the heavy favorite for the fight, with odds of -175 which implies a 63.6% chance that he leaves Saudi Arabia as the unified heavyweight champion.
Anthony Joshua is a +175 underdog, something he hasn't been in his career so far, since he went professional after success at the Olympic games. His odds imply a 36.4% chance that he wins but his fans will be hoping that AJ can secure a victory over the Gypsy King.

Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury Betting
Over the past two months the money has been coming in heavily on Tyson Fury. That shouldn't really be a surprise, he's the peoples champion and his performances against Deontay Wilder cemented his status as the best heavyweight in the world.
In that time just 25% of bets have been on Anthony Joshua, that'll upset him though and he'll want to prove his doubters wrong.
Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury Picks
It's very early and the fight hasn't been signed and sealed yet, but we asked our boxing expert how he saw the fight in Saudi Arabia going down in August.
"Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury is the fight that we've been after for years. You have the ring smarts of Tyson Fury against the power of Anthony Joshua. That is a slightly reductive take because Joshua has shown a real development in his boxing IQ but he's still not quite at the level of Tyson Fury. I see Fury's movement and footwork being an issue for Anthony Joshua and the Gypsy King could box his way to a victory by decison. The odds have moved to heavily favor Fury though and there is perhaps value to be had on Anthony Joshua with this fight being closer to a pick'em than the odds would suggest."
