Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall: Betting Data, Odds, and Preview
Josh Taylor (18-0, 13 KOs)
In what might be his last fight at 140 pounds with rumors swirling he’ll be moving up to welterweight, Taylor needs to handle his business in this one before what is sure to be big opportunities around the corner should he win. After unifying the belts in his most recent win over Jose Ramirez (unanimous decision) in May, the native-Scott will get this bout on home soil and certainly be leaning into that advantage.
Making his pro debut in 2015, Talor started winning titles the following year and since winning the WBC Silver light-welterweight title in 2017, has successfully defended it four times. Having made largely light work of this weight class beating Ryan Martin, Ivan Baranchyk, and Regis Prograis on his way to becoming undisputed champ; not overlooking Catterall will likely be his last remaining task before moving up to welterweight.

Jack Catterall (26-0, 13 KOs)
A relative unknown still, Catterall first fought professionally in 2012 but has since fought just three times outside of England. Winning the British light-welterweight title in 2018, recent wins against Timo Schwarzkopf, and Avderrazak Houya set him up for the biggest fight of his life Saturday against Taylor.
The last time we saw him inside the ring was the Houya fight, a 10 round win (points) in November 2020. There is no doubt, however, his opponent Saturday will be in a class he has yet to see in his career.

Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall Odds & Public Betting Data
While no public data is yet available, as a general rule of thumb, the higher the odds we see on the underdog, the more likely people are going to start to take flyers. At nearly 9/1 odds, I expect the Catterall money to be on its way and for this one to level out closer to where it opened.
