UFC 274 Odds: How to Bet on UFC 274 - The Complete Betting Guide
UFC 274 is going to be an absolute spectacle, and to make sure you are on the right track when it comes to betting this extraordinary event, we have put together this UFC 274 Complete Betting Guide!
The hype around this stacked card is massive, and looking at the fights, it is more than warranted. The main event will see Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje battle it out, and while this fight was scheduled to be for the Lightweight title, Oliveira missed weight by 0.5lbs and now Gaethje is the only one that can walk away with the title on Saturday. If Oliveira wins the fight now, the title will be vacated.
UFC 274 Preview
We have already touched upon the main event, but that is just one of a plethora of huge fights on this big UFC night.
In another title fight, we see Rose Namajunas defending her Strawweight title against Carla Esparza, which is sure to be a tough battle, with the two having a chequered history. Namajunas is the strong favorite to defend her title, but Esparza as a veteran in this sport, will not roll over easily. Esparza beat Namajunas on The Ultimate Fighter back in 2014, but with a lot more experience under her belt now, Namajunas is expected to turn the tables.
Michael Chandler is one of the heaviest favorites on the night, as he takes on the veteran, Tony Ferguson. After going to 25-3 to start his career, Ferguson has now lost his last three-straight fights, including against both of the main event's two protagonists, and it looks like the 38-year old might be in the twilight of his career. Chandler also lost to both Oliveira and Gaethje in his last two fights and is no spring chicken himself at 36, but he is expected to take care of Ferguson.
Other fights on the main card include:
Mauricio Rua v Ovince Saint Preux
Donald Cerrone v Joe Lauzon

UFC 274 Popular Betting Markets
Moneyline/2-Way
Of course this is the most common and popular. You are just betting straight-up who is going to win. Now how, not when, just simply which fighter will win the bout.
The odds shown next to a fighter's name as above, generally signifies their Moneyline odds.
Method of Victory
This one tells its own story. You are betting on how a fight will end, but some sportsbooks let you combine this with one of the fighters as well.
Let us take the Michael Chandler v Tony Ferguson fight as an example. Michael Chandler is the -335 favorite to win the event, so there will be no surprise nor any great profit made, should he win. Were you to correctly predict how it is he may do it though, you can boost your odds significantly.
Method of Victory odds, c/o of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Michael Chandler To Win By KO/TKO/DQ (-110)
Michael Chandler To Win By Submission (+800)
Michael Chandler To Win By Decision (+240)
The clear favorite for method of victory then for Chandler is by KO, TKO or DQ. These are usually always grouped together as an option, and as this is three different outcomes and in Chandler's case TKO or KO being the most likely, he is still odds-on (-110). The -110 price however is still a lot more appealing than his Moneyline odds, which have him at -335. On the flipside to all this, Chandler is a huge +800 to win by submission. 6 of his 22 victories have actually come by way of submission, but Ferguson has only ever lost once by that method, hence the boosted odds. Also with the "To Win By Decision" line, you are also being covered for Unanimous and Split Decision, so again you are covering two outcomes. While the KO, TKO or DQ price doesn't look that great, if that is the most likely outcome in your eyes, it is better than taking Chandler on the Moneyline, so it is worth pondering.
Round Betting
This is another popular market in both UFC and Boxing, with Boxing bettors particularly taking advantage of odds on offer, when 12 rounds are in play.
It is what it says on the tin though. You are betting on what round you think the fight will end. You can either bet on just the round, without selecting a fighter, or you could for example bet on Charles Oliveira to defeat Justin Gaethje in the 1st Round.
Here is a look at the 'Round Betting' odds in the Oliveira v Gaethje fight, to give you an idea.
Winning Round
Round 1 +240
By Decision +300
Round 2 + 300
Round 3 +475
Round 4 +750
Round 5 +1200
Draw +5000
As you can see this fight is not expected to go any great distance, and in fact a Round 1 Finish is seen as the most likely outcome. Now if you attach a fighter to this Round Betting, you will see boosted odds, as you are predicting two outcomes. Let's look at Oliveira as the example, as he is odds-on on the Moneyline, but we will see all these odds will be plus-money, as you are predicting two things to happen.
Charles Oliveira Round 1 +380
Charles Oliveira Round 2 +550
Charles Oliveira Round 3 +850
Charles Oliveira Round 4 +1400
Charles Oliveira Round 5 +2200
Charles Oliveira By Decision +550
As you can see Oliveira to win in Round 1 is the shortest-priced outcome, but you are still getting good odds compared to the Moneyline, as it is hard to predict when the fight will end, on top of knowing which fighter will win. As a result you are getting +380 on Oliveira to win in Round 1 v -150 for him to simply win. During his current 10-fight win streak, Oliveira has won in Round 1 three times, Round 2 four times and Round 3 three times. This shows the unpredictable nature of this market, which is why you get the boosted odds.
Total Rounds
Total Rounds is also another line you can bet. This is where the over/under is set at a figure and you have to figure out what side you want to take. Let us use the Oliveira v Gaethje example again. We have already established that the Sportsbook considers a Round 1 finish the slight favorite in this bout. With that in mind, they have set the over/under rounds in this market at 1.5.
If you take the under 1.5, the fight would have to end in Round 1 for your bet to cash, and the odds on under 1.5 are +110. If you selected over 1.5 rounds (-195) that is every round after Round 1 (2, 3, 4, 5 and decision). So while a Round 1 finish is considered the more likely outcome, you are taking odds on one round against five other options.
Fight To Go The Distance
You can also just vote in a 'yes' or 'no' market, if you have a take on whether the fight will have to go to a judges decision or not. If a fight ended by way of KO/TKO/Submission/DQ then the 'no' part of this bet would cash. If a winner was decided by unanimous or split decision, then 'yes' would hit. So in this market you would perhaps target fighters who you know can knockout early, or on the flipside have the stamina to go five rounds, and lack the knockout power. The odds on this would of course be reflective of the two fighters' history.
