Jan Błachowicz (28-9-0)
Following winning the KSW light heavyweight belt in 2011 and defending it twice, Błachowicz joined the UFC in 2014, and after a rough start losing four of his first six fights, turned a corner in 2017. Knocking off the likes of Jared Cannonier, Luke Rockhold, and Corey Anderson, Błachowicz beat Dominick Reyes in September 2020 for the belt.
In his first title defense, he then knocked off one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, as Israel Adesanya attempted to come up a weight class and become a two-class champion. In Błachowicz’s last fight, however, he lost the belt to current champ Glover Teixeira via a rear-naked choke submission in October.
Aleksandar Rakić (14-2-0)
With just two professional losses and one with the UFC (Volkan Oezdemir, December 2019), 30-year-old Aleksandar Rakić has quickly ascended the light heavyweight ranks, currently the #3 contender behind Błachowicz and Jiri Prochazka. With recent wins against Thiago Santos and Anthony Smith, a third straight here against the former champ would all but certainly send Rakić on a crash course for a shot at the belt.
He also has the metrics to back that opportunity. Coming into this fight, Rakić is landing 4.23 significant strikes per minute, 67% of which are accurate. Known for his striking, Rakić also has a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu pedigree (brown belt) that he’s yet to put on full display within the UFC.

Jan Błachowicz vs Aleksandar Rakić Odds & Public Betting Data
While no public consensus data has been posted, this line movement points in one direction; Rakić. As the fight gets closer, I do expect some buyback on the more experience Błachowicz, whose supporters are no doubt waiting until the last minute to see what kind of number they can get.
