Calvin Kattar (23-5-0)
Winner of three of his past four, Kattar comes into this fight having most recently beat Giga Chikadze via decision in January, his fourth straight fight serving as the headliner. The current #4 contender in the division, his only loss since 2019 has come against the current #1 contender Max Holloway, and a win here would bring him one step closer to a coveted rematch and potential title shot.
Coming into this fight with a 5” height and 2” reach advantage, Kattar is also the more elite striker landing 5.19 significant strikes per minute (vs.4.28) for a total accuracy clip of 43.5%.
Josh Emmett (17-2-0)
At 37 years of age, many might consider Emmett on the tail end of his career but his recent history would say just the opposite. Winner of his past four straight, Emmett has finished two inside the distance and recently knocked off the lethal Dan Ige in December via unanimous decision.
Despite his age, Emmett has just 19 professional fights to date, and only one has come via KO/TKO. While he has only two submission victories, he does have the edge in grappling in this fight with a 1.25 takedown average vs. just .51 from Kattar. His accuracy on takedowns is also almost double at 47.6% vs. 29.4% from Kattar.
