Julian Marquez (11-2-0)

Joining the UFC via the Dana White’s Contender Series 4 in August 2017, Marquez has gone 4-1 in his time since, most recently beating Sam Alvey via submission in April 2021. Since then, he’s had two fights canceled against Kyle Daukaus, Jamie Pickett, and Wellington Turman before finally getting this matchup against Rodrigues.

Gregory Rodrigues (15-4-0)

Despite being a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Rodrigues has relied heavily on his striking since turning professional, with five of his last seven fights going the way of TKO/KO. The last time we saw him inside the octagon was a split decision loss vs. Armen Petrosyan in February, his first loss since September 2020 (Jordan Williams, KO).

Entering this fight, Rodrigues holds edges across the board in striking, landing 5.28 significant strikes per minute with an accuracy clip of 54.52%. This is vs. Marquez’s clips of 4.20 and 49.4%, respectively. Marquez also holds an edge in takedown averages at 2.59 per 15 minutes.
