Tsarukyan joined the UFC in 2019, drawing a killer out of the gates in Islam Makhachev, who many consider (including me) the future champion of this division. Losing via a unanimous decision, Tsarukyan still earned Fight of the Night honors in a tremendous debut with the company. Winning his four fights since, Tsarukyan comes into this fight following two straight TKO victories, most recently to Joel Alvarez in the 2nd round (February).

Mateusz Gamrot (20-1-0)
Joining the UFC in October 2020 following holding the KSW lightweight and featherweight belts, Gamrot also started his career with the company with a loss the first of his career. Also earning a Fight of the Night bonus, Gamrot lost to Guram Kutateladze, via a split decision.
In the time since, Gamrot has more than made up for it, winning three straight fights, all inside of two rounds. Coming into this fight, Gamrot has the advantage on the ground, with a takedown average of 5.83 (vs. 3.47), as well as a slight edge in accuracy at 40%.
