UFC 276: Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway Fighter Record

UFC Featherweight Champion, Alexander Volkanovski looks to put his stamp on becoming the best 145-pounder to ever step into the UFC’s octagon, this Saturday night when he faces former champion, Max Holloway. Volkanovski’s riding a 21-fight win streak, which includes a pair of decision victories over the aforementioned Holloway.

The only thing standing between Max Holloway and being perhaps the best overall champion in UFC history is one Alexander Volkanovski. Outside of a short-notice, higher weight class bout against Dustin Poirier, Holloway was unbeaten for six years until he came up against ‘The Great' to whom he lost back-to-back bouts at UFC 245 and UFC 251, respectively.

Alexander Volkanovski Record: 24-1

Since signing with the UFC in 2016, Alexander ‘The Great’ Volkanovski has compiled an unblemished 11-0 record in the octagon, including an impressive 4-0 record in title fights, two of which against his opponent for this weekend’s event, Max Holloway. The former Rugby star made the transition to MMA in 2012 and after tasting defeat for the first time in his fourth professional bout, Volkanovski has rattled off an unheard of 21 straight fights.

The champion’s impressive résumé boasts wins over the likes of the aforementioned Holloway (twice), former longtime champion, Jose Aldo, former title challengers Chad Mendes, Brian Ortega, and most recently, The Korean Zombie at UFC 273.

Max Holloway Record: 23-6

Following a 2013 loss to former double champion, Conor McGregor, Holloway compiled a 13-0 (outside of an out-of-weight, short-notice bout against Dustin Poirier) record before running into the aforementioned Volkanovski at UFC 245. Since his back-to-back losses against ‘The Great’, Holloway has been on a tear, ripping apart top contenders Calvin Kattar and most recently, Yair Rodriguez at UFC Vegas 42 in November 2021.

Holloway has perhaps the most stacked list of victories in the UFC’s 145-pound division, holding wins over UFC Lightweight Champion, Charles Oliveira as well as former champions Anthony Pettis, Jose Aldo, and Frankie Edgar in addition to perennial contenders Andre Fili, Cub Swanson, and Ricardo Lamas.
