Derek Chisora vs. Kubrat Pulev Odds: Pulev Given 72% Chance To Beat Chisora

Derek Chisora vs. Kubrat Pulev Start Time, Where to Watch, and Odds

When: Saturday, July 9, 2022,

Time: 5 p.m. ET

Where: O2 Arena, London, England

The boxing world will be watching when Derek Chisora steps into the ring to take on Kubrat Pulev at the O2 Arena this weekend in London, England. The two heavyweight contenders are set to face off in a highly-anticipated bout, and the betting odds have Pulev as a slight favorite.

This will be a tough test for both fighters, but Chisora has the edge in high-level experience. He's been in the ring with some of the best heavyweights in the world, and he knows how to use his power to his advantage. Pulev, on the other hand, has built a great record on the back of relatively lesser fighters, and comes into this fight with the advantage of size, standing 3" taller than Chisora.

Let's see how things might shake out in England.

Derek Chisora (32-12, 23 KOs)

Chisora is a big, powerful heavyweight who likes to fight on the inside. He's not the most technically skilled boxer, but he makes up for it with his raw power and aggression. Chisora has a boxing pedigree, having fought some of the best heavyweights in the world.

He comes into this fight off of three consecutive losses to Joseph Parker (two) and Oleksandr Usyk, all three nothing to be ashamed about (coming via decision), but losses nonetheless. Chisora will have a size disadvantage in this fight, as Pulev is three inches taller and has a four-inch reach advantage. Chisora will need to use his boxing skills to get inside and work but does have the advantage when it comes to power.

Kubrat Pulev (29-2, 14 KOs)

Standing at 6'4", Pulev will have a noticeable height and length advantage in this fight which helped him tremendously the first time around vs. Chisora. Looking back on his recent fight history, the second loss of his career came in December 2020, a KO loss to Anthony Joshua in the most difficult challenge of his career.

He has picked up a win since via a unanimous decision win over Jerry Forrest in May and would be happy with the same result here. Possessing a strong right-handed jab, Pulev often struggles to move around the ring with grace and will be wary not to catch the lethal right hand of Chisora before this one is all said and done.
