Nikita Krylov vs. Alexander Gustafsson Breakdown

Nikita Krylov Record: 27-9

Nikita Krylov has had quite the up-and-down UFC career.

Since entering the promotion in 2013, Krylov was one of the hottest prospects on the heavyweight scene but would lose his promotional debut before dropping down to 205-pounds. Krylov won five-straight bouts before being stopped by Misha Cirkunov and left the promotion altogether in 2016. Krylov would quickly get right back on track and won four straight following the loss and would return to the UFC in 2018, but has only won 2 of his 6 outings since his return, most recently being submitted by Paul Craig, this past March.

Alexander Gustafsson Record: 18-7

Former UFC light heavyweight title challenger, Alexander Gustafsson looks for his first victory since 2017 when he makes the walk down to the octagon at UFC London.

The 35-year-old Sweden-native retired following a submission loss to perennial top contender Anthony Smith in the summer of 2019. However, his retirement was short-lived as Gustafsson would return just over one year later and would make his heavyweight debut but would be submitted yet again, this time by former heavyweight king Fabricio Werdum. Gustafsson is a three-time title challenger but unfortunately ran into two of the best fighters in the sport's history, Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier.

Gustafsson last won a fight when he won back-to-back fights over a pair of former UFC Light Heavyweight Champions, Jan Blachowicz (September 2016) and Glover Teixeira (May 2017).
