Former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Volkan Oezdemir looks to get back on track at UFC London.
The 32-year-old went on a historic run when he first entered the UFC in 2017. Following a narrow split-decision victory over longtime division staple Ovince St-Preux in his promotional debut, Oezdemir secured back-to-back knockout victories over Misha Cirkunov and Jimi Manuwa in just 28 and 42-seconds each. The pair of knockouts earned the Swiss-born contender a title shot against then-champion Daniel Cormier. However, Oezdemir would be outclassed by the UFC Hall of Famer en route to a second-round submission loss. The loss to Cormier would start a bit of a downward trend for Oezdemir as the veteran has lost 5 of his last 7 outings, but his two wins are over perennial contenders Ilir Latifi and Aleksandr Rakic, respectively.
