Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs)
Standing at 6’3”, Usyk doesn’t come into a size disadvantage often but that’s precisely where he finds himself again in this fight against the 6’6” Joshua, who also has a 4” reach advantage. Recent pictures have surfaced of Usyk having put on quite a bit of frame since the last time these two fought in September, something Joshua and his camp will surely be aware of.
Already the WBO Inter-Continental heavyweight champion, Usyk took the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles from Joshua with the win, and has not fought since will be putting them all on the line once again here. Despite being a powerful puncher, it is worth noting that Usyk has just one KO in his last six fights, an 8th-round KO of Tony Bellew in November.
Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs)
Picking up his first (WBC) belt in just his ninth fight back in 2014, Joshua has ascended the ranks beating a whos-who of the heavyweight division en route to four other belts along the way. Losing and then avenging a fight vs. Andy Ruiz Jr., things were looking back on track for Joshua heading into the September clash with Usyk.
After losing the early rounds in a decisive fashion, Joshua could never win back the judges as he ultimately lost the fight via decision. With a potential super fight looming against Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury, as it has been for years, a win here is critical to get Joshua back on track in being one of the biggest draws the sport has to offer.
