Israel Adesanya (23-1)
As previously mentioned, 'The Stylebender' is no stranger to the dangerous Brazilian striker, Pereira. Adesanya retired from the sport of kickboxing following his second loss to the aforementioned Pereira. Izzy decided to then focus purely on his MMA career, where he was 9-0 at the time of his kickboxing retirement. Since directing his focus solely on Mixed Martial Arts, Adesanya hasn't only compiled a 14-1 record, including an unblemished 13-0 mark when competing in his native weight class of 185-pounds. The Nigerian champion has defeated the likes of Anderson Silva, Robert Whittaker (twice), Marvin Vettori (twice), Yoel Romero, Kelvin Gastelum, Derek Brunson, Paulo Costa, and most recently, Jared Cannonier at UFC 276.
While not holding many statistical advantages over his Brazilian counterpart, Adesanya can lean on a very specific aspect of his game that Pereira simply cannot compete with and that's utilizing the wealth of experience. Adesanya has competed in more UFC Championship bouts (8) than Pereira has professional MMA victories (six). While Adesanya is one of, if not the best pure striker in all of the UFC, perhaps he'll be looking to drag this one to the mat due to Pereira's novice ground skills compared to his high-level, elite standup prowess.
Despite being knocked out by Pereira in the pair's second bout, Adesanya was thoroughly dominating the Brazilian contender before being caught with a thunderous shot late by Pereira. Perhaps the current 185-pound king would be keen to go back and pick up where he left off before the knockout shot from Pereira and clean up the lack of defense in which got him caught back in 2017.

Alex Pereira (6-1)
Looking for his third win in as many tries over Adesanya, the Brazilian-born, Alex Pereira burst onto the UFC scene late last year. Pereira would viciously knock out Andreas Machailidis at UFC 268 before defeating his fellow countryman, Bruno Silva via unanimous decision just a handful of months later. Pereira most recently secured the biggest win of his young professional Mixed Martial Arts career, as he blitzed top-five contender Sean Strickland via knockout at UFC 276.
When looking to defeat the Adesanya for the third consecutive time, Pereira will undoubtedly be looking to keep this one on the feet, as he holds a measurable 6.29 to 3.93 significant strikes landed per minute advantage over his longtime foe.
As previously mentioned, Pereira wasn't doing too well against Izzy before his (Pereira's) knockout blow, so while he's defeated Adesanya twice already, there's still plenty of work to do for Pereira if he's to make it 3-0 against the current champion and claim UFC gold, this weekend.
