Brad Riddell (10-3)
Looking for the biggest win of his career, tonight is New Zealand's own, Brad Riddell. 'Quake' entered the UFC back in 2019 and immediately made a name for himself after he rattled off four-straight victories by defeating the likes of Jamie Mullarkey, Magomed Mustafaev, Alex da Silva Coelho, and Drew Dober.
Unfortunately for Riddell, he'll be looking to halt a two-fight skid as he heads into UFC 281, tonight, following back-to-back losses against Rafael Fiziev and most recently, Jalin Turner, this past July at UFC 276.
If Riddell were to pick up his first win since June 2021, he should look to utilize a mixed bag of attacks against Renato Moicano. Riddell holds a 1.85 to 1.70 takedowns landed per bout advantage over Moicano as well as a 58.41% to 50.83% significant strike accuracy advantage over his Brazilian counterpart.
Renato Moicano (16-5-1)
Since entering the UFC in 2014, Renato Moicano immediately captured the attention of MMA fans and media alike. Moicano signed with the UFC at just 22 years old and had an 8-0-1 start to his professional Mixed Martial Arts career. However, after a 3-0 start in the UFC octagon with victories over the likes of Tom Niinimaki, Zubaira Tukhugov, and Jeremy Stephens, Moicano ran into the buzzsaw otherwise known as Brian Ortega, who submitted Moicano to hand the Brazilian rising star his first professional loss at UFC 214.
However, Moicano would quickly get back on track following his first professional loss by defeating Calvin Kattar and Cub Swanson. Unfortunately for Moicano, he'd run into some trouble following the impressive back-to-back wins as he'd win just one out of his next four outings, holding losses against Jose Aldo, The Korean Zombie, and Rafael Fiziev. With ensuing back-to-back nods over Jai Herbert and Alexander Hernandez, Moicano heads into tonight's showdown against Brad Riddell after being on the wrong end of a unanimous decision against former UFC Lightweight Champion, Rafael dos Anjos, this past March.
If Moicano were to claim victory in tonight's featured preliminary bout, he'll perhaps be looking to drag this one to deep waters as the Brazilian contender holds a 48.28% to 37.50% takedown accuracy advantage over his opposition despite Riddell actually landing more takedowns per bout (1.85 to 1.70) than Moicano.
