The 31-year-old contender compiled a 10-2 record on the independent scene, including a run in LFA, where he became the LFA Flyweight Champion. Johnson lost back-to-back fights before his LFA streak, where he won four-straight bouts, defeating the likes of Karlee Pangilinan, Yuma Horiuchi, Joao Camilo, and Carlos Mota, which earned him a UFC contract. Unfortunately for Johnson, he'd run into the buzzsaw that is Muhammad Mokaev in his promotional debut this past July.
Zhalgas Zhumagulov (14-7)
Looking to avoid a three-fight skid, this weekend is Kazakhstan's own, Zhalgas Zhumagulov.
The 34-year-old contender entered the UFC in the summer of 2021 after a successful run in the Russian-based Fight Night's Global promotion. Unfortunately for Zhumagulov, he'd immediately struggle in the UFC as he's lost three of his four promotional outings, losing to the likes of Amir Albazi, Manel Kape, and most recently, Jeff Molina, this past June. Zhumagulov's lone UFC victory came back at UFC 264 when he submitted Jerome Rivera.
