Derrick Lewis vs. Sergei Spivac Prediction

Derrick Lewis (26-10)

Fan-favorite perennial heavyweight contender, Derrick Lewis looks to get back on track and make one final push for title contention when he faces Serghei Pavlovich at UFC Fight Night 215.

The Texas-native contender entered the UFC back in 2014 and immediately became a favorite to MMA fans around the world with his hard-hitting prowess following a pair of knockout victories to begin his promotional tenure, securing wins over Jack May and Guto Inocente. Lewis would lose two of his next three bouts before going on a six-fight winning streak, defeating the likes of Viktor Pesta, Damian Grabowski, Gabriel Gonzaga, Roy Nelson, Shamil Abdurakhimov, and Travis Browne. Unfortunately for Lewis, he would be knocked out by Mark Hunt. Quickly after he got back on track, going on a three-fight winning streak, holding wins over Marcin Tybura, current UFC Heavyweight Champion, Francis Ngannou, and Alexander Volkov (which was the famous 'my balls was hot' fight). With the win over Volkov, Lewis earned himself a shot at UFC gold, but he ultimately came up short when he was submitted by UFC Hall of Famer and former two-division world champion, Daniel Cormier. Lewis would then lose his next bout, which was against former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Junior dos Santos, but 'The Black Beast' would earn himself one more shot at the title when he defeated Blagoy Ivanov, Ilir Latifi, Alexey Oleinik, and Curtis Blaydes. However, Lewis would come up short when he lost to Cyril Gane for the interim UFC Heavyweight Championship. After a win over Chris Daukaus, Lewis heads into UFC Fight Night 215 looking to halt a two-fight skid after losing to Tai Tuivasa and most recently, Sergei Spivac, earlier this year.

Sergei Spivac (15-3)

Meanwhile, Sergei Spivac looks to force himself into the conversation when it comes to the elite in the UFC's heavyweight division.

Since entering the UFC in 2019, Sergei Spivac gained headlines as one of the best European heavyweight prospects in the world. However, in his promotional debut, Spivac would suffer his first professional loss against Walt Harris. Spivac would then defeat perennial fan-favorite contender, Tai Tuivasa but he’d drop his ensuing bout against Marcin Tybura. Spivac would then go on a three-fight winning streak, defeating the likes of Carlos Felipe, Jared Vanderaa, and Alexey Oleinik before being halted by Tom Aspinall. However, Spivac would again get back on track as he heads into UFC Vegas 65 looking to extend his current two-fight winning streak following back-to-back victories over Greg Hardy and most recently, Augusta Sakai, this past August.
