Looking to secure a massive victory in front of his home country fans, Shannon Ross makes his UFC debut.
Making his professional debut in 2010, Ross earned himself a shot on Dana White's Contender Series in August of last year. Unfortunately for Ross, he was knocked out in the second round by Vinicius Salvador. However, despite the shortcoming on DWCS, Ross has found himself fighting in his home country of Australia and making his debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship in the process.
If Ross were to secure a victory in his promotional debut, it'd more than likely be from keeping this one on the feet. Ross boasts an impressive 7.15 significant strikes landed per minute on the independent circuit but will need to be careful as he eats an enormous 8.43 significant strikes per minute.
Kleydson Rodrigues (7-2)
Looking to knock off the hometown boy will be Brazil's, Kleydson Rodrigues.
Much like Ross, Rodrigues is a Dana White's Contender Series alum. However, the difference for Rodrigues is that he was successful in his bid to snag a UFC deal as he secured the unanimous decision nod over Santo Curatolo on the 2021 edition of DWCS. Unfortunately for Rodrigues, he'd come up just short during his promotional debut as he was on the wrong end of a split decision against CJ Vergara.
While certainly not being Khabib Nurmagomedov or Islam Makhachev on the mat, Kleydson Rodrigues could actually be looking to drag this one to the mat. Rodrigues lands a solid 5.73 significant strikes per minute, but as previously mentioned, Ross is quite the striker. Ross doesn't ever look to land takedowns and Rodrigues actually lands a takedown per 15 minutes in addition to attempting one submission per 15 minutes.
