UFC Odds: Conor McGregor Announces Retirement
As fight fans focused all their attention Saturday night into Sunday morning on UFC 250, the sport’s biggest fighter took the time to announce that he plans on retiring altogether, rather than continuing his career.
Conor McGregor, who has been linked to at least four opponents for his next bout, was last seen in UFC action on January 18, when he defeated Donald Cerrone by TKO.
McGregor has been known to announce “retirements” throughout his time in the octagon. He tweeted that he was retiring in April 2016 as well and has fought four times since, leaving fans sceptical of just how serious he is this time around
The shocking news quickly shifted all attention away from Amanda Nunes, who successfully defended her title against Felicia Spencer for her 11th win in a row.
FOX Bet is still offering odds for four potential McGregor opponents: Jorge Masvidal, Justin Gaethje, Nate Diaz and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
McGregor is favored in a potential bout against Gaethje (-133) and Diaz (-250). He’s a slight underdog against Masvidal (+105), while his +260 odds in a fight against Nurmagomedov give him a just a 27.8% implied probability of victory.
