Earlier in the week, we reported that 47% of all bets were on underdog Jorge Masvidal to upset Kamaru Usman in the UFC 251 co-main event on Fight Island this Saturday.

As the week has progressed and more bettors have begun to picks sides, Masvidal has vaulted well past the 50/50 split he was nearing and has gained a stranglehold on the market.

As of Thursday, 76% of all bettors are backing Masvidal to defeat Usman, even with his best odds of +215 implying just a 31.7% chance of victory.

Meanwhile Usman, who comes into Saturday’s bout with best odds of -250 and is as short as -290 at some places, is being backed by just 24% of the public. His -250 odds are short for a bout between two relatively evenly matched fighters. Those -250 odds give him an implied probability of 71.4%.

Usman is the current welterweight champion of the world and ranked 6th in the UFC’s pound-for-pound rankings, boasting a 16-1 record.

Masvidal is the No. 3 ranked welterweight in the world.
