UFC Odds: Bettors Seem to Like Woodley's Chances More Than Oddsmakers
Ahead of tonight’s UFC Fight Night main event between Tyron Woodley and Colby Covington, oddsmakers aren’t giving Woodley much of a chance.
The former UFC welterweight champion, Woodley comes into Saturday night as a +275 underdog. Those odds imply just a 26.7% chance he pulls off the upset. That’s a far fall for a fighter that was considered one of the best in the sport not too long ago.
After decisive losses to Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns, oddsmakers have all but given up on Woodley. However, it seems as though the betting public still has some faith.
Despite the fact that he has just a 26.7% chance of winning, 47.2% of all moneyline wagers are on him to get the win.
Covington, whose -335 odds imply 77% shot to win, is backed by 52.8% of bettors.
Covington was riding a seven-fight win streak before his last bout, when he suffered a TKO defeat to Usman.
Woodley is the fifth-ranked welterweight in the entire company. Covington is ranked No. 2, behind the champion Usman and No. 1 contender Gilbert Burns. If Woodley intends on making a rise to the top of the division once again, tonight is a must-win for the former champion.
