Nick Diaz vs. Robbie Lawler UFC 266: Betting Data, Odds, and Preview

When: SEPTEMBER 25, 10:00 PM EDT

Where: T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas, Nevada

Nick Diaz is officially returning to UFC on September 25 in Las Vegas. He squares off with Robbie Lawler. The non-title fight is expected to be five rounds and will be on the main portion of the pay-per-view card. For anyone who has followed the UFC for any time, they will be interested in what Nick Diaz Vs. Robbie Lawler odds are.

For those of you who like nostalgia, this will certainly provide it. Diaz and Lawler have a history that runs back to 2004. This is a rematch 17 years in the making as Diaz previously defeated Lawler by way of a stunning second-round knockout at UFC 47 all the way back in 2004!

Nick Diaz

Diaz (26-9) is the older brother of UFC star Nate Diaz and a pioneer in mixed martial arts. He is a former Strikeforce welterweight champion and was involved in big fights with the UFC against B.J. Penn, Carlos Condit, Georges St-Pierre, and Anderson Silva from 2011 to 2015.

Diaz has not fought in more than six years now, primarily due to a suspension after he tested positive for marijuana, which led to a ridiculous five-year ban from competition by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) in September 2015.  Diaz was eligible to fight again in 2018 but did not compete following the completion of his suspension. He teased his comeback on a number of occasions and he has finally landed this fight with Lawler.

Robbie Lawler

Lawler (28-15) is a former UFC welterweight champion. He won the 170-pound title by defeating Johny Hendricks in 2014 and defended it twice in instant classics against Rory MacDonald and Condit. The 39-year-old has dropped his past four bouts, all against very high-level competition.

During his four-fight losing streak, he has lost to names like Rafael dos Anjos, Ben Askren, Colby Covington, and Neil Magny, with three of those losses coming by way of unanimous decision. He was expected to fight Mike Perry at UFC 255 last year, but was forced to withdraw due to injury and has not stepped inside the Octagon since then.

Nick Diaz vs Robbie Lawler Odds

The latest Nick Diaz Vs. Robbie Lawler odds are nearly split. Despite Diaz not having fought professionally in years, oddsmakers are hesitant to list him at longer odds at this point.

As you would expect from someone who hasn’t fought in more than six years, Nick Diaz is the underdog at UFC 266, but not by as much as you may think, according to the latest Diaz vs. Lawler odds.

With Diaz not having fought in so long, the oddsmakers are beginning to move the line in Lawler's favor. As of just a few days ago, Lawler was at -120 but now his best value is -145. As for Diaz, he’s moved to +140 on DraftKings.
