How To Bet College Football Week 0

There is a lot still to learn about each team as we head into this new College Football season, but the mechanics of how we bet remain the same. Let's break down our favorite markets for the College Football Week 0 slate, and give an example bet for each.

All odds are taken from DraftKings Sportsbook and are correct as of 08/26

Moneyline

The standard bet of them all. When it comes to Moneyline betting, you are backing which team you expect to win.

In the Nebraska v Northwestern game, which is being held in Dublin, Ireland the Moneyline odds are as follows:

  • Nebraska (-425)
  • Northwestern (+340)

Nebraska are clearly expected to win this matchup then, but in unfamiliar surroundings Nebraska may struggle to live up to their pre-game odds, given their poor pass-blocking. Nebraska excel on defense, but Northwestern's strength is their offensive line, so this could be a low-scoring game that either could win, despite what the odds suggest.

Spread Betting

Spread betting is incredibly popular, especially when you are looking to bet on an underdog. You may not think that team can win their matchup, but you might think they will keep it closer than the market suggests. The Utah State Aggies are huge favorites against the UConn Huskies, as you will see from the line below.

  • Utah State (-26.5)

This means Utah State are expected to win by 27 points or more. The Aggies have lost their three leading receivers from last season, with Deven Thompkins, who gained the second-most receiving yards in the league a particular miss.

With a new receiving corp playing together in a competitive game for the first time, we might see a stuttering offense early. If this is the case, there simply might not be enough points in this game for Utah State to win by 27.

Over/Under Total

This is where you are looking to bet on the total points scored in the game. Following on from our previous point, if the consensus is Utah State have some bedding in to do, and that UConn are not very good, then the under total looks good here.

  • The Total is set at O/U 59 points (-110)

No matter how you want to bet this game, which teams you want to back and how likely it is you think teams will cover, as long as you claim the DraftKings promo code and FanDuel promo code, you will turn $10 into $350, even if you get it wrong in Week 0.
