Buccaneers vs. Cowboys: Preview
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the defending Superbowl Champions, will face the Dallas Cowboys in the highly anticipated first game of the NFL season.
Dallas will be without their OG Zack Martin on Thursday, who tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week. For the Cowboys offense, this is not very good news. Dak Prescott, who is coming off a brutal leg injury and a minor shoulder injury this offseason, is now without one of his big men who protect him. Dak will face the Buccaneers, who are arguably the best defense in the league and have returned all 22 of their 2021 Superbowl-winning starters. Prescott could really benefit from his right-hand man, Ezekiel Elliott, with a strong performance. A bounce back season from Elliott can help propel Dallas to not only a Week 1 win, but a successful season. If Prescott wants to win Comeback Player of the year, this is quite the game to start his comeback on.
For the Buccaneers, Tom Brady has continued to show us year after year that he has more left in his tank. Brady and the Bucs will look to utilize their strong receiving core (Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Antonio Brown) more than their run game against the Cowboys defense.
Brady is no stranger to primetime games and will be supported well by the Bucs solid defensive unit and a packed crowd full of fans who are hopeful for another long playoff run.
