Kareem Hunt Activated: How it Impacts the Browns Offense
Through the first six weeks of the year, the Cleveland Browns let their dual back running game go off and it’s what helped them get out to a 3-1 start on the season. As we know, Cleveland is at its best when they’re running the football and they haven’t had both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt healthy and playing together since Week 5 of the season.
That’s about to change as Kareem Hunt was just activated by Cleveland and is expected to make his return on Sunday along with Jack Conklin.
When healthy, Hunt has been very good for Cleveland this year. He’s averaging 60.2 yards per game and 5.2 yards per attempt, which is a career-high for him. He also had five rushing touchdowns before going down with a calf injury.
In fact, in the first five games of the season, the Browns rushing attack was downright dominant. They went for 153, 156, 215, 184, and 230 rushing yards with a combined 12 touchdowns. That’s insane production from the rushing attack. Even still with both Hunt and Chubb missing time, the Browns still have the best run game in football and it will only get better with the duo back in action.
Cleveland Browns vs Baltimore Ravens Odds
Team | Spread | ML | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Cleveland Browns | +3.5 | +165 | O 47 (-105) |
Baltimore Ravens | -3.5 | -180 | U 47 (-105) |
The Cleveland Browns are underdogs this week at +3.5 on the road in Baltimore. Over the last two weeks in particular the Browns offense has struggled mightily so it’s easy to see why they’re underdogs in this AFC North matchup. They’ve combined for just 20 points in the last two weeks but in the five games with their running back duo in place, they were averaging 28.4 points per game.
We’ll see which version of the Browns we get on Sunday Night Football. For a team that’s in the fight for a playoff spot, it sounds like they’re getting healthy at the perfect time.
