Seahawks Betting Preview
The Seahawks’ season is going from bad to worse and not even the return of prized quarterback Russell Wilson could mitigate their unbridled freefall. Wilson returned to the fold in Week 10, only for the Seahawks to suffer their worst defeat of the season – losing 17-0 to the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field. The following week, the Seahawks succumbed to a brutal 23-13 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, who were playing without their talisman Kyler Murray.
Wilson suffered a serious finger injury in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams which required surgery immediately and should have kept him out of the game until December. However, the veteran quarterback made a “miraculous” recovery and returned weeks earlier than expected. Wilson’s return was expected to rejuvenate the Seahawks offense and jumpstart Seattle’s turnaround in 2021. Alas, it hasn’t gone quite to plan, giving rise to the question of whether Wilson returned prematurely.
Pete Carroll was stumped for answers after his side lost to the Murray-less Cardinals that after a few minutes of fielding questions in the post-game press conference he abruptly ended proceedings. “I am done,” he said in parting. Bizarrely, after stomping off in such dramatic fashion, Carroll returned to the media room to field a few more questions – although he still didn’t have any answers.
Seattle’s problems go deeper than Wilson. Yes, he has struggled with his accuracy since he returned. After he was rendered pointless by the Steelers, the Cardinals held Seattle’s signal-caller to 14 of 26 passing for 207 yards and no touchdowns. But the Seahawks are both offensively and defensively challenged. And have been for some time. The sum total of the team’s parts aren’t working together, and Wilson is unable to mask all these issues anymore.

Ron Rivera enjoyed a moral victory in Week 11 as his Football Team delivered an upset win over the Carolina Panthers on the road. The odds were stacked against Washington but they got paid on those with a 27-21 win at the Bank of America Stadium.
Washington has had an up-and-down season. Lookahead lines projected Seattle as the 3.5-point favorite on the road, but after Week 11, the market re-opened with the Seahawks down to -2.5. Since markets opened on Sunday, the line steadily moved against the Seahawks until it completely flipped. Now, the Seahawks are tipped as the small 1-point road underdogs.
The game total opened at 47 points, down from a lookahead 48 points. Not unlike the point spread, the game total has trimmed down to 46.5 points at most top-rated sportsbooks.
