NFL Odds to Make the Playoffs for Every Team Ahead of Week 17

Week 17 of the NFL regular season is upon us. In a year in which the theme has been widespread parity across the league, it probably shouldn’t come as a major surprise that the playoff races in both conferences are nip and tuck with just two games remaining. The final month of the regular season is shaping up to be epic. Thanks to so many teams still being in the playoff hunt, bettors have countless opportunities to fire on NFL betting odds to make the postseason.

Of course, one would be wise to keep a close eye on both the injury report and virus protocols before making any playoff futures bets. It is also wise for bettors to compare and contrast the strength of schedule for teams battling against one another for a postseason berth. Careful handicapping can reveal a number of intriguing betting opportunities.

As we get set for Week 17 action, there are a half-dozen teams that have already locked up their spot in the NFL Postseason. The table below includes those six clubs along with their respective clinching method to date (division winner, a playoff berth, etc.)

TeamRecordPlayoff Standing
Green Bay Packers12-3Clinched NFC North
Kansas City Chiefs11-4Clinched AFC West
Dallas Cowboys11-4Clinched NFC East
Los Angeles Rams11-4Clinched Playoff Berth
Tampa Bay Buccaneers11-4Clinched NFC South
Arizona Cardinals10-5Clinched Playoff Berth

While the teams above may have already punched their ticket to the postseason, there are still eight spots up for grabs between the AFC and NFC. The following article highlights the best NFL betting odds available for each team to make and/or miss the playoffs ahead of Week 17. Note that teams are listed in alphabetical order and not based on their respective odds or percentage chances to make the postseason.

NFL Betting Odds to Make the Playoffs for Every Team

Atlanta Falcons Playoff Odds

Yes: +3000 | No: -7000

Somehow, someway, the Falcons are only one game under .500 heading into Week 17. While they need to win out and get help to reach the postseason, Atlanta really has no business being this close this late in the season. A tough test awaits on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. The Falcons are two-touchdown underdogs for that game. However, they do have a winning record on the road this season.

While the door remains open, betting on Matt Ryan to lead the Falcons to a stunning playoff berth is fittingly a long shot at 30-1 odds. That price is available at PointsBet.

Baltimore Ravens Playoff Odds

Yes: +180 | No: -220

A four-game losing streak has sent the Ravens spiraling from the top spot in the AFC to the wrong side of the playoff cutline. Baltimore’s defense is a shell of what many felt it would be this season thanks to numerous injuries. An injury to Lamar Jackson and a positive virus test for steady backup, Tyler Huntley, have forced the Ravens to start three different QBs in the past month. Even so, Baltimore is a pair of successful two-point conversions away from being 10-5. Needless to say, their odds to make the playoffs would look a lot different.

On the heels of the recent losing skid, bettors can now find plus-money odds on the Ravens to make the playoffs. Caesars is home to the favorable +180 price.

Buffalo Bills Playoff Odds

Yes: N/A | No: +1400

The Bills reclaimed the top spot in the AFC East Division with a win over the rival New England Patriots last week. Just three weeks ago, bettors could lay less than three dollars on Buffalo to reach the postseason. Now, all that remains is a 14-1 long shot on the Bills to collapse out of the playoff picture. While this team has plenty of flaws, they are all but guaranteed a spot in the dance. The Bills will be double-digit favorites in home games against the Falcons and New York Jets to close the season.

Cincinnati Bengals Playoff Odds

Yes: -430 | No: +330

Joe Burrow put together an all-time passing performance last week as the Bengals routed the AFC North rival Ravens for the second time this season. While Cincinnati is now sitting in a good position with respect to making the playoffs, it won’t be easy down the stretch. Games against the Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns will carry postseason implications for the opponents as well. One win should be all the Bengals need.

For some, the -430 odds on the Bengals to make the playoffs may be worth laying given their current position in the standings. That favorable price can be found at Caesars.

Cleveland Browns Playoff Odds

Yes: +475 | No: +200

Despite now being a game under .500 and sitting in last place in the AFC North Division, the Browns remain one of the biggest mysteries as far as their postseason fate. This is because Cleveland faces the Pittsburgh Steelers and Bengals in the final two weeks of the season. While everything remains right in front of them, Baker Mayfield will have to play a whole lot better than he did on Christmas.

Currently, bettors can find the best value on the Browns to make the playoffs by playing +475 odds at Caesars. FanDuel is also offering a solid 2-1 return on Cleveland to miss the postseason.

Denver Broncos Playoff Odds

Yes: +2500 | No: -10000

Last week’s loss to the Las Vegas Raiders was a major gut-punch for the Broncos’ playoff hopes. Despite not having great quarterback play and even trading away veteran linebacker Von Miller during the season, Denver has found ways to hang around in the AFC Wild Card picture. Vic Fangio is probably more likely to be fired after the season than the Broncos are to beat both the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City chiefs to have a realistic shot at making the playoffs.

Given the uphill battle the Broncos face, it is no surprise to see long odds on them to make the postseason. Caesars currently has the best value at +2500.

Indianapolis Colts Playoff Odds

Yes: N/A | No: N/A

There are not currently NFL betting odds available on the Colts to make or miss the playoffs. While Indianapolis is widely expected to make the postseason, the status of quarterback Carson Wentz for a pivotal Week 17 game against the Las Vegas Raiders is unknown due to virus protocols. Much like the odds for that game, sportsbooks have opted to remove playoff futures for Indianapolis for the time being.

Las Vegas Raiders Playoff Odds

Yes: N/A | No: N/A

Like the Colts, there are not currently NFL betting odds available on the Raiders to make or miss the playoffs. Given that the two teams collide in Week 17, the outcome will heavily impact both sides’ respective chances. With the status of Carson Wentz up in the air due to virus protocols, oddsmakers have elected to remove the playoff future for both teams until clarity ensues.

Los Angeles Chargers Playoff Odds

Yes: N/A | No: N/A

The Chargers also do not have playoff future odds available. Explaining this one is not as simple as the missing odds for the Colts and Raiders. Los Angeles looked like a safe bet to reach the postseason prior to suffering an upset loss to the Houston Texans last week. Now they must contend with two division rivals in the Broncos and Raiders who are also fighting for a Wild Card spot.

Miami Dolphins Playoff Odds

Yes: +400 | No: -500

Yes, the same Dolphins that started the season 1-7 are now occupying the 7-seed in the AFC after 16 weeks. Miami has canceled out their awful start by winning seven straight games to resurface above .500. However, their odds to make the playoffs are still offering a 4-1 return due to the tough competition they will face in their final two games. The Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots both figure to offer more resistance than any opponent Miami has beaten during their current winning streak.

Those looking to bet on the Dolphins to pull off an improbable playoff appearance should target DraftKings for optimal +400 odds.

Minnesota Vikings Playoff Odds

Yes: +600 | No: -900

Losing to the Detroit Lions put the Vikings behind the eight ball with respect to the NFC Wild Card race. After squandering a game that was filled with opportunities in losing to the Rams last week, Minnesota now must try to upset the Packers on the road in order to keep their faint hopes alive. If they do, a season-finale against the Chicago Bears is certainly winnable.

You can bet the Vikings at +600 odds to make the playoffs at both DraftKings and Caesars.

New England Patriots Playoff Odds

Yes: -1800 | No: +900

Despite losing their lead in the AFC East Division last week, the Patriots remain in good standing when it comes to making the playoffs. While several of New England’s competitors have difficult games looming in Week 17, the Pats have what could be considered a free win as they host the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars. Expect to see Bill Belichick back in the postseason after a one-year absence.

Considering the current AFC standings and their remaining schedule, it might be worth laying -1800 odds on the Patriots to make the playoffs. Bettors can find this optimal price at Caesars.

New Orleans Saints Playoff Odds

Yes: +165 | No: -190

The Saints may be 7-8, but with remaining games against the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons, one has to believe this team could finish 9-8. Will that be enough to make the playoffs? It would take some help elsewhere along with New Orleans running the table, but Sean Payton’s crew has a legitimate shot at getting in.

Those who think the Saints can finish the season strong can find a solid +165 price to make the playoffs at PointsBet.

Philadelphia Eagles Playoff Odds

Yes: -240 | No: +200

Look, the Eagles aren’t good. Then again, not many teams are in the NFC, a conference where you are either great or downright awful. As a result, Philadelphia is sitting in a good position to pull off a shocking playoff appearance. The Eagles close the season against Washington and the Cowboys. One win may be all it takes to lock up a wild card berth.

The best price on the Eagles to make the postseason can be found at Caesars in the form of -240 odds.

Pittsburgh Steelers Playoff Odds

Yes: +700 | No: -1200

After getting blown out by the Chiefs last week, the Steelers are now considered an underdog when it comes to making the playoffs in any capacity. It is worth noting that everything remains in front of this team with two games to go. Matchups against the Browns and Ravens are both winnable. A division crown may be a stretch, but Pittsburgh is very much a factor in the AFC Wild Card picture. Can Mike Tomlin convince this flawed team to fight to the end?

Both DraftKings and Caesars currently list the Steelers’ playoff odds at +700.

San Francisco 49ers Playoff Odds

Yes: -280 | No: +230

The 49ers’ odds to make the playoffs would likely look a lot different had they beaten the Tennessee Titans last week. Instead, Jimmy Garoppolo turned in a multi-interception performance and San Francisco let one slip away. Given the lack of quality teams trying to chase them down in the standings, one has to believe that the Niners will finish among the top-seven in the NFC.

Bettors can currently lay less than three dollars on the 49ers to make the playoffs at Caesars.

Tennessee Titans Playoff Odds

Yes: N/A | No: N/A

While the Titans have yet to officially clinch a spot in the playoffs, a whole lot would need to happen for them to come up short. Despite several injuries to key players throughout the season, Tennessee is in firm control when it comes to winning the AFC South Division. In fact, the Titans probably have a better chance of landing the No. 1 overall seed than they do missing the postseason altogether. As a result, there wouldn’t be a whole lot of excitement even if betting odds did exist. Mike Vrabel and the coaching staff deserve a world of credit for keeping this group together.

Washington Football Team Playoff Odds

Yes: +1300 | No: -3000

Honestly, Washington has a realistic chance to win each of their final two games given that they face the Eagles and miserable New York Giants. Then again, the Football Team has lost three straight and has been ravaged by virus protocols. It was only three weeks ago that Washington was breathing down the necks of the Cowboys in the NFC East Division. Now, they are 13-1 long shots at Caesars just to make the playoffs.

Off the Board

The following eight teams are already off of the NFL betting odds board to make the playoffs as a result of having been mathematically eliminated from postseason contention prior to Week 17.

  • Carolina Panthers
  • Chicago Bears
  • Detroit Lions
  • Houston Texans
  • Jacksonville Jaguars
  • New York Giants
  • New York Jets
  • Seattle Seahawks
