In what has the potential to be the game of the week, the New England Patriots are heading to Buffalo to take on the Bills. Right now, the New England Patriots are the one seed in the AFC with an 8-4 record heading into this one.

Buffalo has been inconsistent this year sitting at 7-4 one game behind where the New England Patriots are in the AFC East standings. With a lot on the line in terms of playoff seeding, both teams desperately need this game.

Today, we’ll be looking at the five most popular bets from the public on this AFC East rivalry game.

Patriots +3

Patriots +354%57%

Just barely, are the Patriots backed by the public more than Buffalo. New England has been excellent against the spread this year going 8-4 with an average margin of victory of 12.2. They covered and won in their lone game as a road underdog this year. As a home favorite, Buffalo is just 2-2-1 and has an ATS +/- of -2.

Under 40.5

Under 40.574%48%

Here’s one of those times where we see a massive difference between the bets percentage and the handle percentage. Both of these teams are known for their defense, as Buffalo features the number one defense to the Patriots’ number two defense. Most are expecting a low-scoring and tight game tonight which makes sense considering where the money is on the point total. On average the Bills allow just 16.5 points against per game to the Patriots 15.8. It’ll be a struggle for either team to reach 20 points.

Stefon Diggs to score 1st touchdown (+900)

More often than not, for these first touchdown scorers, we see a running back be the top choice. But with Buffalo’s inability to run the ball and the pure talent of Stefon Diggs, I can see why he’s a popular bet. Diggs has seven touchdowns on the season and has scored six touchdowns in the Bills’ last six games. With 101 targets, Diggs is by far Josh Allen’s favorite weapon to throw to so chances are, if the Bills are to get in the endzone first, it’ll be from Allen to Diggs.

Hunter Henry Anytime TD (+200)

I love playing tight ends for anytime touchdowns and apparently so does the public this week. Hunter Henry has been a touchdown machine for the Pats in recent weeks too to make matters even more favorable. He hasn’t scored a touchdown in back-to-back weeks but from Week 4 through Week 10 he got in the endzone seven times. Henry is a great safety blanket for Mac Jones and when they get in the red zone the young signal-caller usually looks his way. Hunter Henry leads the Patriots with 15 targets in the red zone this year, 25.4 percent of the team’s targets are coming his way.

Will both teams score 20 or more points (No -250)

Going back to the number one and number two defense thing from earlier this one makes sense. The Buffalo Bills have kept opponents under 20 points six times this year with New England coming in at eight times. In fact, the Patriots have kept teams under 20 in four straight and five of six. The public is expecting a defensive battle tonight and so am I.
