Tom Brady, the greatest player to ever play in the NFL and the only player to ever win seven Super Bowls, has announced that he will be retiring after 22 seasons in the NFL, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Brady spent the majority of his 22 years in the NFL with the New England Patriots before spending the last two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady was drafted 199th overall in the 2000 NFL Draft. Making his legacy as the greatest football player ever even greater is the fact that he wasn't a can't-miss prospect. Instead, he was taken in the sixth round and worked to become great.

Brady wasn't even supposed to see time on the field as early as he did, but thanks to an injury to then-starting-QB Drew Bledsoe, Brady was thrust into the starting role in the in the 2001 season and never looked back.
