2022 NFL Comeback Player of the Year Odds: Odell Beckham Jr. Leads the Way in Bets
2021 was the resurgence of Odell Beckham Jr. After he was released by the Browns, the Los Angeles Rams picked him up and they went on a run. In seven games with Los Angeles, he had 305 yards and five touchdowns.
Into the playoffs, he looked like the version we saw of him with the New York Giants. He went for 288 yards and two touchdowns including a touchdown in the Super Bowl. Heading into 2022, expectations are high for Odell as he is the most backed player when looking at the 2022 NFL Comeback Player of the Year odds.

2022 NFL Comeback Player of the Year Odds
Name | Odds | Implied Chance |
---|---|---|
Derrick Henry | +300 | 25% |
Jameis Winston | +500 | 16.67% |
Christian McCaffrey | +700 | 12.50% |
Daniel Jones | +800 | 11.11% |

Michael Thomas | +1400 | 6.67% |
Marcus Mariota | +1400 | 6.67% |
Odell Beckham +4000 (Bet $100 to win $4000)
Not even included in the list of the top guys is Odell Beckham at +4000. In fact, there are 24 players with better odds in front of him yet he has been the most backed player to win the Comeback Player of the Year Award with 26% of the bets.
The irony here is that Odell Beckham JR. remains unsigned. After tearing his ACL in the Super Bowl it is unlikely that Odell sees the field for Week 1. Heck, it might be October or even into November before we see him on the football field.
This feels like a scenario where he rehabs for the next few months and then he re-signs with the Rams to go on another playoff run. Will that be enough to win the award though?
With Derrick Henry, Jameis Winston, Christian McCaffrey, etc. all returning from injury it will likely be challenging for him to put up the numbers necessary in that short of a time. I'm an OBJ believer but when looking at the 2022 NFL Comeback Player of the Year odds, it's very difficult seeing him win it this year.
