2022 NFL Playoffs Odds: Jets +700 (Bet $100 to win $700)
44% of the bets this month are on the New York Jets to make the playoffs. That's pretty wild for a team that just won four games the year prior. What could have happened this month that swayed people's opinion on the Jets?
We have the answer! Zach Wilson's mom "scandal". Just a couple of weeks ago, Zach Wilson got 31% of the 2022 NFL MVP bets once that wild story broke. I don't think we'll see Zach win MVP but this Jets team should be better this year.
In free agency, they added a Pro Bowl-caliber guard in Laken Tomlinson and additions like DJ Reed and Jordan Whitehead on the defensive side of the ball. Then, Joe Douglas landed Sauce Gardner, Garrett Wilson, Jermaine Johnson, and Breece Hall in the 2022 NFL Draft to ramp up this roster.
It's a little bit of a longshot, as they're given just a 12.5% shot of being a playoff team to come out of the AFC but I am very much here for people thinking the Jets can end their 11-year playoff drought.
