Seattle Seahawks vs. Chicago Bears Odds: 75% of Bets on Bears to Beat Seahawks

The Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks are set to get Week 2 of the NFL Preseason underway tonight as Seattle plays host to the Bears. Unfortunately for their fans, neither of these two NFC teams are expected to do much this year with the Bears getting an entirely new coaching staff and the Seahawks trading away Russell Wilson.

Still, the preseason is an important time for teams to find out who is making their roster as depth and who, unfortunately, will get cut. For fans, it could also be used as a primer for the regular season.

We'll look at the Seattle Seahawks vs. Chicago Bears odds and see where the money is going from the public tonight.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Chicago Bears Odds

Seattle Seahawks vs. Chicago Bears Spread

TeamsOpening SpreadCurrent SpreadBets%Handle%
Bears+3.5+3.556%58%
Seahawks-3.5-3.544%42%

Seattle is the favorite at home but the Chicago Bears are seeing 56% of the bets and 58% of the handle come their way for today's game. The Seahawks will be without Drew Lock who tested positive for COVID earlier in the week. They will be starting Geno Smith, who is expected to win the job anyway, this week.

Justin Fields looked solid in his preseason debut last week and when the backups come in the Bears will be turning things over to veteran signal-caller Trevor Siemian.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Chicago Bears Moneyline

TeamsOpening MLCurrent MLBets%Handle%
Bears+150+15075%68%
Seahawks-185-18525%32%

Just like the spread, the Bears are underdogs but are receiving more bets. A whopping 75% of bets are on the Bears on the moneyline with 68% of the handle to go along with it. There's not enough value on the moneyline to lay the -185 on Seattle which is why we're only seeing 25% of the bets come in on them.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Chicago Bears Total

TotalOpening TotalCurrent TotalBets%Handle%
Over39.54038%36%
Under39.54062%64%

The betting public sees a low-scoring game. The line moved up from 39.5 to 40 but that didn't change much for the bets. Ironically, the overs have been off to an incredible start in the preseason. The over hit in 14 of the 17 preseason games in Week 1. Will that trend continue in Week 2 or will we see a regression? The public is fading that trend hoping for things to come back to the mean.
