2021 British Open Odds

We’re under a week away from the final major of the 2021 golf season as we head to England for the British Open. This year, it’s Royal St Georges hosting the major and we’ve got a strong favorite at the top of the British Open odds betting market.

Jon Rahm broke through last month at the US Open to win his first major at Torrey Pines and there’s been no sort of hangover from that success. Rahm is playing for the first time since his maiden major win this week over on the European Tour at the Scottish Open and at the time of writing, he has the outright lead after the completion of his second round.

This, unsurprisingly has led to his British Open odds to shorten substantially and he’s now the clear favorite in the odds lists. Before the Scottish Open, Rahm was a general +1200 joint-favorite with Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy, but his good start in Scotland has led to the sportsbooks cutting him into clear favorite. And who could blame them? Rahm looks the standout player in the world right. Jon Rahm’s best British Open odds are currently +900 with DraftKings Sportsbook. A $100 wager on Rahm would return $1000 if he were to go back-to-back with successive major wins.

2021 British Open Odds

Jon Rahm +900

Dustin Johnson +1200

Rory McIlroy +1200

Brooks Koepka +1600

Xander Schauffele +2000

Bryson DeChambeau +2000

Justin Thomas +2200

Collin Morikawa +2800

Looking at the data from OddsChecker and you’ll see that not only have Jon Rahm’s British Open odds dropped substantially due to his incredible form, it’s also because of the overwhelming amount of bets being placed on him. Jon Rahm has accounted for 23.24% of total bets on the British Open odds market with OddsChecker in the last 24 hours. That’s double the amount of bets than his nearest rival (Justin Thomas). If Rahm continues to play well this weekend at the Scottish Open and takes home the title, you can expect the money to continue to arrive for him. His best current British Open odds are +900, which won’t last much longer.
