Open Championship Odds: Tiger Woods at 40/1 Receives Most Bets for British Open
Nobody in the golf world puts butts in the seats like Tiger Woods. The man is a lightning rod, even when he isn't performing his best. We've seen him twice this year, at the Masters and the PGA Championship. He finished 47th in the Masters and had to withdraw after three rounds at the PGA Championship as he shot well over par both of those times.
Just because of those poor performances doesn't mean that people aren't flocking to get their bets in. That's right, people still love Tiger Woods as he's received the most amount of bets for the Open Championship.

Tiger Woods British Open Odds +4000 (Bet $100 to win $4000)
Yes, Tiger Woods at 40/1 is the most popular bet heading into the British Open which should surprise no one. It was the same the last two times we saw him earlier in the year and despite poor play, the fans are back and backing Tiger hard.
The Open Championship is an event that Tiger Woods has won three times (2000, 2005, and 2006) and an event he has finished top 10 eight times in. That was many, many moons ago now.
Since 2015 he was cut twice, and did not participate three times. To his credit, he did finish tied for sixth in 2018 but even that is approaching four years ago at this point. Yet for some reason, fans still have faith in Tiger Woods.
Other popular bets include Scottie Scheffler (+1200) and Will Zalatrois (+2500). Both of those players have 10% of the handle on them in this tournament. Rory McIlroy is a favorite here and is fourth in popular bets with 8% of the handle.
I guess we will just have to wait and see if Tiger Woods has any magic left in him but at least 14% of bettors are hoping he can turn back time in Scotland this week.
