Hockey fans, rejoice! Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final is finally here as the Tampa Bay Lightning take on the Dallas Stars.

As of this morning, the Tampa Bay Lightning are favored to win the Cup. Tampa’s current best odds sit at -182. Meanwhile, the Stars are +170 to win the second Stanley Cup in team history.

Those odds imply a 64.5% chance the Lightning win the Cup, and a 37% shot that Dallas takes it home.

Oddsmakers are giving the slight edge to the Lightning, and so is the betting public. 54.5% of all Stanley Cup winner bets since the end of the Eastern Conference Finals have been on the Lightning to win the series, while 45.5% of the bets have been on Dallas.

Dallas’ odds in tonight’s Game 1 are a little better than they are in the series, but they’re still the underdog.

The Stars are +140 on the moneyline on Saturday, while the Lightning are -155. The Lightning are also looking for their second Stanley Cup. Their first came in the 2003-2004 season when they defeated the Calgary Flames in seven games.
