1. Colorado Avalanche 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+400) (Bet $100 to win $400)

The newly minted 2022 Stanley Cup Champions remain the favorite to repeat in 2023. It is not surprising with elite talent like Cale Makar, Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and Nazem Kadri. Even if Kadri departs due to his status as an unrestricted free agent, the Avs remain loaded at every position.

2. Toronto Maple Leafs 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+800) (Bet $100 to win $800)

Toronto will always have a chance to mount a deep playoff run with Auston Matthews on their roster. The Maple Leafs haven't won a Stanley Cup since the 1966-67 season, so it is undoubtedly intriguing to see them ranked as the second most likely team to win in 2023 at +800. However, goaltender Jack Campbell needs to improve his play in the net to get Toronto past the first round of the playoffs in 2023.

3. Tampa Bay Lightning 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+900) (Bet $100 to win $900)

Tampa Bay had their chances of three-peating as Stanley Cup Champions ended prematurely at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche. However, the Lightning will quickly regroup because they have arguably the deepest roster in the league, led by Nikita Kucherov and Steven Stamkos. Durability was the biggest issue in 2021-22, but if the stars can stay healthy next season, Tampa Bay at +900 feels like great value.

4. Florida Panthers 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+1000) (Bet $100 to win $1000)

Florida scored the most regular-season points in 2022, but they could not manage to win a playoff game against Tampa Bay in the second round. The Panthers have plenty of firepower from Jonathan Huberdeau, Aleksander Barkov, and Sam Reinhart to keep churning out goals. It comes down to goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, who will need to finally take the next step in his playoff development to cash in on +1000 odds in 2023.

5. Vegas Golden Knights 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+1400) (Bet $100 to win $1400)

Jack Eichel was a mid-season acquisition for Vegas, who ended up missing the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. Goaltender Robin Lehner finished with a .907 save percentage in 2022, which will need to be improved to sustain a serious playoff run in 2023.

6. Carolina Hurricanes 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+1400) (Bet $100 to win $1400)

The Hurricanes won the Metropolitan Division in 2022 and lost a seven-game series to the New York Rangers in the divisional round. Sebastian Aho, Andrei Svenchnikov, and Nino Niederreiter are premium goal-scorers, while goaltenders Frederik Andersen and Antti Raanta form a strong tandem in the net.

7. Calgary Flames 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+1800) (Bet $100 to win $1800)

Calgary won the Pacific Division with 111 points in 2022, and head coach Darryl Sutter won coach of the year due to the Flames' dominance in the regular season. However, after getting bounced 4-1 in the Divisional Round by Edmonton, the Flames will need to add more depth through free agency and the draft to balance their scoring distribution.

8. Minnesota Wild 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+1800) (Bet $100 to win $1800)

Minnesota has a lot of exciting young talent, most notably 24-year-old winger Kirill Kaprizov. Ryan Hartman and Kevin Fiala scored over 30 goals, but the defense needs an upgrade to compete with Colorado and St. Louis in a loaded Central Division.

9. Edmonton Oilers 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+1800) (Bet $100 to win $1800)

After stumbling in the playoffs for multiple seasons, Edmonton's star center, Connor McDavid, led the Oilers with a dazzling three-round performance in the 2022 playoffs. However, Edmonton needs to add wings and defensemen who can contribute more on offense, taking the pressure off McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Goaltender Mike Smith is another liability who may need to be replaced to make a legitimate Stanley Cup run in 2023.

10. Pittsburgh Penguins 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+2000) (Bet $100 to win $2000)

Pittsburgh has been on top of the Metropolitan Division for years, but its stars are aging, and durability concerns abound. The goaltending is a separate issue, as the volatility between him and Casey DeSmith creates a need for maximum offense most nights.

11. New York Rangers 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+2000) (Bet $100 to win $2000)

The New York Rangers surprised many people with their run into the Eastern Conference Finals in 2022. They rely on the elite goaltending of Igor Shesterkin, but Chris Kreider scored 52 goals last season, while Artemi Panarin, Mika Zibanejad, and Adam Fox all finished with at least 70 points. Adding more scorers and some defensive help behind Fox could make +2000 an enticing bet to lay.

12. Boston Bruins 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+2200) (Bet $100 to win $2200)

The Bruins had a down year but still managed to push Carolina to seven games in the first round of the playoffs. Rumors of Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak departing Bean Town could create further obstacles towards winning another Stanley Cup in Boston.

13. St. Louis Blues 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+2200) (Bet $100 to win $2200)

St. Louis is unfortunately sandwiched between Colorado and Minnesota to compete for the Central Division title in 2023. Even Dallas and Nashville have quality rosters with playoff experience, so the Blues will need to add a scoring defenseman and a possible replacement for the second-string goaltender, Jordan Binnington.

14. Washington Capitals 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+3500) (Bet $100 to win $3500)

Washington may have been fourth in the Metropolitan Division, but they still finished the regular season with 100 points last season. As talented as veteran Alex Ovechkin is, he needs more help to sustain scoring, as Ovechkin netted 50 goals while Evgeny Kuznetsov and Tom Wilson combined to score 48 goals.

15. New York Islanders 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+3500) (Bet $100 to win $3500)

The Islanders were the rare team with exceptional goaltending but a lackluster offense in 2022. Only two players scored over 20 goals, which is not nearly enough to compete in the modern NHL. However, as long as the Islanders add some quality pieces through the draft and free agency, goaltender Ilya Sorokin could help deliver a playoff seed in 2023.

16. Dallas Stars 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+4500) (Bet $100 to win $4500)

Dallas was a year early to the playoffs in 2022, but their young offensive core comprised of Jason Robertson and Roope Hintz shows promising signs for the future of the Stars' franchise. In addition, 23-year-old goaltender Jake Oettinger averaged 2.53 GAA and a .914 save percentage in 46 starts, showing that he's another high-caliber talent defending the net in Dallas.

17. Vancouver Canucks 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+4500) (Bet $100 to win $4500)

Vancouver has a complete roster that saw three players score over 30 goals in 2022, so they need to hone in on developing their other players. Adding a goaltender to replace Jaroslav Halak would likely improve the Canucks' chances of winning the Pacific Division in 2023.

18. Los Angeles Kings 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+4500) (Bet $100 to win $4500)

Los Angeles won several games due to sheer grit and determination last season. However, despite battling adversity, the Kings have an aging roster that underdelivered in 2022. Adding a splash-free agent and a couple of high-caliber draft prospects could bolster their offense, while goaltender Cal Petersen will need to rebound from a 2.89 GAA and .895 save percentage in 2023.

19. Buffalo Sabres 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+5000) (Bet $100 to win $5000)

Buffalo traded Jack Eichel, their best player, mid-way through last season, so everything after that should be viewed as a wash. The Sabres will still be a bad team, but they can improve their chances with a slew of first and second-round draft picks in the upcoming 2022 NHL Draft.

20. Detroit Red Wings 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+5000) (Bet $100 to win $5000)

Detroit had a -82 goal differential in 2022, and it was not the offense's fault. The Red Wings scored 230 goals, which isn't great, but porous goaltending from Alex Nedeljkovic and Thomas Greiss is a massive issue that needs to be resolved to consider laying any money on Detroit to win the Stanley Cup Finals in 2023.

21. Nashville Predators 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+5500) (Bet $100 to win $5500)

Defenseman Roman Josi led the Predators in total points (96) in 2022, but Matt Duchene and Filip Forsberg did their part on offense by combining for 85 goals. Forsberg is now an unrestricted free agent (UFA) and could be on the move if his contract situation drags on. Goaltender Juuse Saros is a great talent and should keep Nashville in many games next season.

22. Winnipeg Jets 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+6000) (Bet $100 to win $6000)

The Jets were only -5 in goal differential in 2022, but their defensemen did not do enough to sustain the offense, led by Josh Morrissey with 12 goals and 37 total points. Goaltending is the primary issue in Winnipeg, with Connor Hellebuyck allowing 2.97 GAA across 66 starts.

23. Philadelphia Flyers 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+6000) (Bet $100 to win $6000)

No way the Flyers can repeat how badly they performed in 2022, right? It's going to be a rebuild, but goaltender Carter Hart deserves another chance in 2023 after being subjected to 40-plus shots most nights. The 23-year-old could develop into a nice netminder, while the Flyers will need to search free agency and draft boards to acquire scoring talent.

24. Ottawa Senators 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+7500) (Bet $100 to win $7500)

All of Ottawa's top seven point leaders in 2022 were under the age of 30. So signing a veteran with scoring ability is the most obvious move for the Senators' front office. Goaltender Anton Forsberg impressed down the stretch last year, finishing with a .917 save percentage with a 22-17-4 record across 44 starts.

25. Anaheim Ducks 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+7500) (Bet $100 to win $7500)

Anaheim started as the best team in the league last season but quickly came crashing down the Pacific Division standings due to poor goaltending and injuries. Trevor Zegras and Troy Terry are an exciting young tandem to lead the Ducks into the future, but adding more pieces is necessary. Goaltender John Gibson could be on the move in pursuit of a better netminder for the 2022-23 season.

26. New Jersey Devils 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+7500) (Bet $100 to win $7500)

New Jersey has found something special in Nico Hischier and Jack Hughes, but they also have the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. So once again, goaltending is the glaring issue for the Devils to address ahead of 2023.

27. Seattle Kraken 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+10000) (Bet $100 to win $10000)

Many fans and scouts expected Seattle to replicate Vegas' inaugural season. Unfortunately, the opposite occurred, resulting in an eighth-place finish in the Pacific Division with a meager 60 points. Scorers are needed in this starved offense, along with competent two-way defensemen. Unfortunately, goaltender Philipp Grubauer does not appear to be the answer in the net after surrendering a 3.16 GAA in 2022.

28. San Jose Sharks 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+10000) (Bet $100 to win $10000)

San Jose had to rely on a top-heavy offense to generate production in 2022, as Timo Meier and Tomas Hertl combined to score 65 goals. The lack of depth at all positions needs to be addressed. However, the goaltending by James Reimer and Adin Hill was sufficient.

29. Chicago Blackhawks 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+10000) (Bet $100 to win $10000)

Chicago doesn't need to add scorers. They have plenty from Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane, but another defenseman to pair with Seth Jones would be a good direction to move heading into the draft and free agency. Goaltender Kevin Lankinen is the primary issue with a sub .900 save percentage (.891) in 45 starts for the Blackhawks in 2022.

30. Columbus Blue Jackets 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+10000) (Bet $100 to win $10000)

Columbus needs more veteran leadership in its locker room to improve the roster in 2023. They added Jakub Voracek in 2022 to address their youth, so maybe they run into free agency and use their two top-12 draft picks to get quality play from the center and left-wing positions. Meanwhile, either goaltender Elvis Merzlikins or Joonas Korpisalo needs to be replaced.

31. Montreal Canadiens 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+15000) (Bet $100 to win $15000)

Montreal had the second biggest negative point differential (-96) in 2022, but they were missing star goaltender Carey Price for most of the season. Fortunately, the Canadiens hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, hosted live on-site from Montreal, so fans should celebrate the addition of top center Shane Wright to help Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield score more goals in 2023.

32. Arizona Coyotes 2023 Stanley Cup Odds (+50000) Bet $100 to win $50000)

Arizona had one of the worst seasons in recent memory during their 2021-22 season, finishing with 57 points and a -106 goal differential. Although the team is relocating to a collegiate stadium for the next couple of seasons, fans should be excited by how much early-round draft capital the Coyotes have to exercise. The roster should look way different in 2023, but the +50000 odds exist for a reason. Arizona is the definition of a team in full rebuild mode.
