1. KRIS LETANG, D, PITTSBURGH PENGUINS TO SEATTLE KRAKEN

Kris Letang has all of the requisite skills that defensive-needy teams like the Kraken desire. He can score goals, has incredible skating and puck handling, and has an elite vision that yielded 58 assists with the Penguins in 2022. Seattle receives a massive upgrade by trading for the talented veteran defenseman.

2. NAZEM KADRI, C, COLORADO AVALANCHE TO BOSTON BRUINS

Nazem Kadri is still celebrating his career year that ended with hoisting Lord Stanley's Cup. 87 points, including 28 goals scored across 71 games in the 2022 regular season, is enough production for Boston to make a trade offer to Kadri. He's an upgrade for any team, including the top-heavy Bruins, who may be losing star veteran Patrice Bergeron to free agency.

3. FILIP FORSBERG, C, NASHVILLE PREDATORS TO CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS

Chicago desperately needs to upgrade its center position and opts to target Filip Forsberg off of a career year in Nashville. Forsberg scored 42 goals and 42 assists for the Predators in 2022, but his current $6 million contract would only make a dent in the Blackhawks' $25.7 million cap space.

4. EVGENI MALKIN, C, PITTSBURGH PENGUINS TO COLORADO AVALANCHE

After losing Nazem Kadri to Boston, the newly-minted Stanley Cup champions sign veteran center, Evgeni Malkin. He has endured durability concerns over the past few seasons, but when Malkin is on the ice, he's a goal-scoring machine.

5. PATRICE BERGERON, C, BOSTON BRUINS TO MONTREAL CANADIENS

Patrice Bergeron continues to be an asset on offense despite heading into the 19th season of his career. After two decades in Boston, the star veteran returns home to Quebec, providing an immediate jolt to the lackluster Canadiens offense.

6. JOHNNY GAUDREAU, LW, CALGARY FLAMES TO PHILADELPHIA FLYERS

Staying on the trend of star players returning home, Johnny Gaudreau departs Calgary and laces his skates for the Philadelphia Flyers in 2023. Gaudreau is coming off a wildly successful year for the Flames, scoring 40 goals and finishing with 115 points, so his presence will immediately impact a team that desperately needs offense.

7. MARC-ANDRE FLEURY, G, MINNESOTA WILD TO NEW JERSEY DEVILS

Goaltenders are often the difference-maker determining whether a team makes the playoffs. 37-year-old goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury never fell below a .908 save percentage across 56 starts for Chicago and Minnesota last season. The Devils have a young, dangerous offense, and shoring up the goaltending will make them a dark horse to make the 2023 postseason.

8. PHIL KESSEL, RW, ARIZONA COYOTES TO PITTSBURGH PENGUINS

Pittsburgh shows interest and trades for their former winger, Phil Kessel, adding the veteran goal-scorer back onto their roster. Kessel was hampered by a horrific roster in Arizona in 2022, scoring a career-low eight goals, so he should bounce back and score 20-plus goals for the Penguins in 2023.

9. VINCENT TROCHECK, C, CAROLINA HURRICANES TO DETROIT RED WINGS

Vincent Trocheck scored over 20 goals for the first time since 2018. Carolina is fully loaded elsewhere, and Detroit has no depth at center behind Dylan Larkin, so they trade for Trocheck's experience and goal-scoring ability

10. ONDREJ PALAT, LW, TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING TO CALGARY FLAMES

The Flames replace Johnny Gaudreau with a ten-year winger, Ondrej Palat. After playing a decade in Tampa Bay, Palat has shown that he is a capable winger on the first or second line and has enough goal-scoring ability and puck-handling skill to warrant consideration from other contenders.
