---|---|---|
The Field | +125 | 44.44% |
Colorado Avalanche | +150 | 40% |
New York Islanders | +200 | 33.33% |
Calgary Flames | +600 | 14.29% |
New Jersey Devils | +900 | 10% |
Avalanche +150 (Bet $100 to win $150)
Okay, we're not talking about the field because that is too vague. At this point, it really feels like a two-horse race between the Colorado Avalanche and the New York Islanders. For the Avalanche, they've already made a few big signings. Valeri Nichushkin, Josh Manson, and Arturri Lehkonen were all signed to multi-year deals of $4.5 million or more against the cap.
As currently constructed, Colorado has just $3.9 million in cap space. Also, Nazem Kadri is a center and they could theoretically just use JT Compher as their second line center behind Nathan MacKinnon which was Kadri's role last year. Perhaps they would be okay with letting him move on which then brings the Islanders to the table.
Islanders +200 (Bet $100 to win $200)
There have been some links to the New York Islanders for Nazem Kadri and when you think about it, it makes a ton of sense. Lou Lamoriello, the Islanders' General Manager had Kadri back during their time in Toronto together and Lamoriello has been known to bring in former players that he is familiar with during his four years on the Island.
Also, Nazem Kadri being signed to the Islanders but not announced would be so Lou Lamoriello. Last year, the Islanders waited until September in order to announce their signings and re-signings even though everyone knew Kyle Palmieri and Zach Parise were going to Long Island.
The Islanders currently have $11.2 million in cap space right now but need to extend RFA's Noah Dobson, Alexander Romanov, and Kieffer Bellows. They may need to clear out some space before announcing a signing like this.
