F1 Bahrain GP Betting Odds: Max Verstappen Heavily Favored to Win
F1 Bahrain GP Betting Odds: Max Verstappen Heavily Favored to Win
F1 is heading to the Sakhir desert for the first night race of the season. The Bahrain Grand Prix has been a part of the Formula One circuit since 2004 and is usually the third race of the season in F1 but this year it's first.
This year, F1 has some new features to take note of. First, they are switching from 13-inch tires up to 18-inch tires and secondly, cars in Q3 no longer have to race on the tires that they ran their fastest Q2 lap with.
With some of these changes outlined, let's look at the F1 Bahrain GP betting odds for the first F1 event of the year.

Max Verstappen +150 (Bet $100 to win $150)
Max Verstappen is the heavy favorite for this event as he's given +150 odds to get the job done. Verstappen is the 2021 F1 World Champion and he has 20 wins under his belt. If you remember, last year it was the first Lewis Hamilton vs Max Verstappen battle that we saw in the 2021 season. Last year it was Hamilton who had the edge but in 2022, oddsmakers believe that it will be Verstappen coming out on top and starting the 2022 campaign with a bang.
Charles Leclerc +400 (Bet $100 to win $400)
Last year, Charles Leclerc finished sixth in the event. In Leclerc's F1 career, he has two wins under his belt both of which came in 2019. He won the Belgian Grand Prix and the Italian Grand Prix that year. Will he be able to find himself in the win column for the first time in three years? This is his second year driving for Ferrari and the former FIA Rookie of the Year from 2018 is looking to start his 2022 season strong at the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton +475 (Bet $100 to win $475)
Since 2004, no driver has more victories than Lewis Hamilton at the Bahrain Grand Prix. He has five, winning in 2014, 2015, 2019, 2020, and 2021. Three years in a row he's won here but oddsmakers clearly doubt his ability to make it four in a row. Hamilton is a seven-time F1 Champion winning it four years in a row before finally being knocked off by Max Verstappen. Perhaps we will get another great duel between Verstappen and Hamilton here again at the Bahrain GP, just like we saw last year.
