Kentucky Derby Odds: Honor A.P. Collapses In Price After Santa Anita Win
Following the results of this past weekend’s Santa Anita Derby, UK bookmakers have begun to shift odds for September’s Kentucky Derby.
Most notably shifting are the odds of the Santa Anita Derby winner, Honor A.P.
Honor A.P. came into the weekend at +2000 to win the Kentucky Derby at most UK books, and by Tuesday the horse’s odds had been slashed all the way to +600 on Bet365. Honor A.P. also received 100 Kentucky Derby qualification points for winning the Santa Anita Derby, making it almost a lock to qualify for September.
With those odds, Honor A.P. is currently the third favorite for the Kentucky Derby. Tiz the Law, who is also the favorite for this month’s Belmont Stakes, is currently +350 for the Derby. Maxfield, who is skipping the Belmont, has +450 odds to win The Run for The Roses.
Next up for Honor A.P. is the Shared Belief Stakes at Del Mar Racetrack in Del Mar, California. The race is scheduled to take place on August 1, but how the horse performs there will undoubtedly shift its odds even more.
