2021 Preakness Stakes Latest Odds

After a huge upset in the Kentucky Derby, horse racing enthusiasts are chomping to have a wager on the next race of the Triple Crown, which is the Preakness Stakes.

After a jaw-dropping run in the Kentucky Derby, Medina Spirit has been installed as the favorite in the 2021 Preakness Stakes odds market. Medina Spirit was the shock winner of the 147th running of the Kentucky Derby.

Kentucky Derby bettors could get 12/1 on Medina Spirit winning before the race last weekend, however, the odds aren’t as generous heading into the Preakness. Medina Spirit is the betting favorite in the Preakness Stakes odds market, with sportsbooks setting the odds at 7/4.

Essential Quality was the short priced betting favorite heading into the Kentucky Derby, but finished fourth. Despite that poor showing, Essential Quality would have likely been favorite in the Preakness Stakes odds market, but has been pulled out of the race. King Fury was another who would have been prominent in the odds market, that horse has also been pulled out.

Concert Tour has been given odds of 2/1 to win the Preakness Stakes next weekend, and will likely be Medina Spirit's main threat.

O Besos, Midnight Bourbon, Risk Taking and Rombauer are the only other horses who have been given odds of under 10/1 to win the Preakness Stakes.

2021 Preakness Stakes Betting

Since the Preakness Stakes odds became available, bettors have been very keen on the favorite Medina Spirit, who has accounted for 50% of total bets with OddsChecker UK. This should come as no surprise as the Kentucky Derby winner is always popular to follow up in the Preakness.  As we get closer to race time, you can expect that trend to continue and Medina Spirit to shorten to nearer Evens.

Of the rest of the runners, Concert Tour has been the second best backed horse with 24% of bets, whereas Mandaloun and O Besos has seen just a few wagers placed.
