How to Watch the 2022 Belmont Stakes

The last leg of the triple crown is scheduled to go off on Saturday, as the 154th Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park shouldn’t lack its usual drama. While Preakness winner Early Voting won’t be in this weekend’s field, The Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike will be, having rested since his historic win in early May as an 80-1 longshot.

Coming in at 1.5 miles (12 furlongs), the Belmont Stakes is the longest of the three Triple Crown races and something to consider when choosing your horse. It’s also worth noting that the Belmont is run on a dirt track, so you’ll want to keep an eye on weather reports both during and in the build-up to the race.

Scheduled to go off on Saturday at approximately 6:45 PM EST, let’s take a closer look at how you can tune in to all the coverage.

As usual, Mike Tirico will host the festivities, with an award-winning cast beside him in horse racing experts Randy Moss and Jerry Bailey. Additionally, NBC Sports will be broadcasting the “Win and You’re In” series, which will include qualifying races from the Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series. Those races are the Hill ‘n’ Dale Metropolitan Handicap, Ogden Phipps Stakes, and the Jaipur Stakes.

For those eager to begin their Belmont Stakes viewing, NBC will begin on Friday with a Belmont Stakes preview titled America’s Day at the Races beginning at 6:30 PM EST. The show, which is produced by horse racing’s premier network NYRA, will also air Wednesday-Sunday on Fox Sports 2 (FS2) live from Churchill Downs.

Additionally, Belmont Preview LIVE will air on Thursday at 7 PM EST on ABR’s Facebook and Youtube Channels, hosted by Joy Taylor and Jonathan Kinchen. Lastly, immediately following Belmont Preview LIVE, La Trifecta will air on the same channels at 8 PM EST, which is a Spanish-speaking Belmont show hosted by Darwin Vizcaya, Claudia Spadaro, and Annise Montplaisir.

With no shortage of ways viewers can get in on the action, it should be a historic week for the Belmont Stakes.
