FA Cup Odds: Shock Weekend Parlay Would Have Paid $67,200 From a $50 Wager

FA Cup: Arsenal shock Manchester City in FA Cup Semi-Final

Mikel Arteta got one over his former boss this weekend, as his Arsenal team capped off an impressive week by defeating Manchester City in the FA Cup Semi-final. City were favorites to lift the cup pre-kick-off but they were surprisingly dumped out of the competition by two Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang goals.

The win was quite a shock for the betting world, but the scoreline was an even greater surprise. Online sports bettors could have backed the 2-0 final score at a massive +5500 before the game, which implied there was only a 1.8% chance of the outcome happening. However, it paid to use Oddschecker as these odds were only available with a couple of bookmakers. The worst odds on the betting market were +4000.

$50 wagered at +5500 (best odds) would have returned bettors $2,800, whereas $50 wagered at +4000 (worst odds), would have returned $2,050. That’s a massive $750 extra from the same bet. Even though bookmakers offer the same betting markets they have different odds.

FA Cup: Chelsea dump Manchester United out of the FA Cup

It was a day to forget for Manchester United’s goalkeeper, David de Gea, who let in a couple of very soft goals to gift Chelsea an uncatchable lead in the second FA Cup semi-final of the weekend.

Chelsea winning wasn’t as big as of a shock as the Arsenal triumph, however, similar to the Saturday scoreline, the correct score was pretty tricky to foresee. Online bookmakers priced Chelsea at +2300 to beat Manchester United 3-1. However, once again there were pretty big differences in the odds available on the market.  Another online bookmaker was offering +1950 on the exact same score

$50 wagered at +2300 (best odds) would have returned bettors $1,200, whereas $50 wagered at +1950 (worst odds) would have only returned $1,025. Even though the difference in winning is only $175 in this instance, it’s still pretty sizeable given it's the exact same bet.

FA Cup Parlay

The two price differences above are pretty compelling arguments to check Oddschecker before placing a bet. When you start building parlays, the argument intensifies.

If somehow you managed to combine the correct scores in a parlay you would have won the following:

Best Odds Parlay

Arsenal to win 2-0Chelsea to win 3-1

$50 wagered at best odds would have returned $67,200

Worst Odds Parlay

Arsenal to win 2-0Chelsea to win 3-1

$50 wagered at worst odds would have returned $42,025

That’s a $25,175 difference from the exact same bet!
