The 2022 World Cup will take place from November to December, as opposed to previous editions, which were often held in the summer (Northern Hemisphere) months. It will be adjusted to fit Qatar's colder winter months, but even so, the heat will likely be a problem for all of the participating teams.

Four teams from three different continents will compete for two spots in one of the most fascinating groups, Group F, for a chance to advance. Let's examine each in more detail to determine where the value still exists.

The Favorite: Belgium

Belgium was once ranked first in the FIFA World Rankings but was recently dethroned by Brazil, which is currently ranked #1. Over the past five years, Belgium has constantly ranked among the top teams in the world, led by  Romelu Lukaku of Chelsea and Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne. Even still, the squad has fallen short of Belgians' high expectations, and time is running out for what has been dubbed the "Golden Generation" in Belgium.

Nevertheless, Belgium enters this World Cup as the top team in the European (UEFA) qualification group and concludes the round (+friendlies included) with a goal differential of +27. Although the current generation of players has yet to claim any notable tournament victories, they have experience competing under pressure, which is a vital tool in a tournament such as this.

The Longshot: Morocco

Achraf Hakimi of Paris Saint-Germain is the star defender for Morocco, who placed second in the African (CAF) World Cup qualifying competition. Morocco, which will be making its second consecutive trip, has scored an astounding 62 goals since the year 2021 began.

The Hopeless: Canada

Canada, which will be competing in their first World Cup since 1986, is the lowest ranked team in Group F. Finishing CONCACAF zone with an 8-2-4 record, Canada won the competition by defeating Jamaica 4-0 at home in Toronto in late March.

One of Canada's best players, though, was absent from that match as Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich is battling myocarditis problems since being diagnosed with COVID-19. Canada, which is now ranked #38 in the FIFA World Rankings, has some work to do if they want to advance, but nothing is impossible for a country that has been waiting far too long for a World Cup victory.

Best Value: Croatia

In the most recent World Cup (2018), Croatia was amongst the highlight teams, making it all the way to the championship game before falling to France 4-2. It is important to note, nevertheless, that they have had difficulty competing on a global scale ever since, losing in the Round of 16 at the EURO 2020s only two years later.

Croatia, led by veteran Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric, still has a shot to advance out of this group, but they won't be as shocking to their opponents as they were in 2018. Croatia, which only lost once in qualifying (against Slovenia), will surely be a team to watch in this year's World Cup.
