Current Top 10 Champions League Winner Odds
Manchester City +275 (Bet $100 to win $275) Liverpool +450 (Bet $100 to win $450) Paris Saint-Germain +550 (Bet $100 to win $550) Bayern Munich +700 (Bet $100 to win $700) Real Madrid +1000 (Bet $100 to win $1000) Chelsea +1200 (Bet $100 to win $1200) FC Barcelona +1200 (Bet $100 to win $1200) Tottenham +2000 (Bet $100 to win $2000) Juventus +2500 (Bet $100 to win $2500) Inter Milan +35000 (Bet $100 to win $35000)
While it is a gamble to take a winner before groups are even formed, I believe there is still value on the table.
The Champions is currently going through qualifiers with the official first Matchday to be on September 6, 2022. Knockout stages begin the second week of February 2023. The Final will be held at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on June 10, 2023.
Teams that stand out to me are Barcelona +1200, Juventus +2500, and Bayern Munich +700 as value odds.
Manchester City +275 (Bet $100 to win $275)
Manchester City offers to me no value whatsoever as they have been favored for what it seems the past six years. Arguably the best team in England but just seems to come short every single year. Although with the addition of Haaland, things do look promising. But at the end of the day, it is not a number I would touch. The team on paper is filled with firepower, but in the end, it just seems to come down to the lack of mentality.
Bayern Munich +700 (Bet $100 to win $700)
Bayern Munich have already started their season on a high note scoring six goals on Frankfurt. While Bayern owning Germany is nothing new, it does make you question if Sadio Mane will be an upgrade from Robert Lewandowski. With the speed, he brings on the pitch, and the lethal finishing it does seem like a perfect fit for this team that is stacked on every other position. Adding Matthijs de Ligt is a big replacement for Sule. I believe this number +700 should be around +500. Bayern will win the league by 15+ points and have just enough time to focus on the Champions League.
FC Barcelona +1200 (Bet $100 to win $1200)
FC Barcelona are going all in this season with their financial status and new signings. They are aiming for the moon, anything less could cause some big failure in the future. Do they have enough? Well with the addition of a much-needed striker and another Brazilian talent Raphina it does sure seem like they are off to a nice start. Adding to the other 5 forwards they have, scoring should be no issue. The golden boys Pedri and Gavi hold down the midfield with the veteran Sergio Busquets and Frenkie De Jong (although rumored on his way out to Manchester United). Other notable additions are Franck Kessie, Jules Kounde, and Andreas Christensen. The Club seems to look at the best it has in a few years. With their rivals Real Madrid not making many moves this summer, another La Liga title could also be in the works for this exciting Barcelona team.
Juventus +2500 (Bet $100 to win $2500)
Juventus had a really busy summer. With the departures of club legends Paulo Dybala and Giorgio Chiellini. Adding to that the talented de Ligt. But no worries as they got to work and added the talented CB Bremer from Torino. Bringing back Pogba to upgrade that midfield and adding Angel Di Maria. With Chiesa still available this team looks extremely strong on the attack. With one of the most exciting finishers in the game Vlahovic, Juventus are a team that can make a deep run in this tournament. With the current odds of +2500, I believe it brings a lot of value to a team that can make it up to the quarterfinals. It was a true disaster to go out of the Champions League at home against Villarreal. While the only goal from both legs came just inside the first minute in leg 1 with no answer from Juventus in the second leg. A very talented group all around with much experience should bring this team to better results this year.
Liverpool +450 (Bet $100 to win $450)
Quiet summer outside of the Darwin Nunez transfer. And that is one of the biggest factors, Darwin Nunez. We know what Salah and the rest of this team can do. Personally still not sold on Luis Diaz but his second season should be much better. How much will Liverpool miss Mane's 28-goal contributions from last year? I think on paper this team is still solid and should have a top 3 finish in the league. The biggest question is how much lack of experience will affect this team with Darwin and Luis Diaz. Not the greatest number here but a team that will be in it past the round of 16.
Paris St-Germain +550 (Bet $100 to win $550)
Not many moves for the Parisians this summer. Outside of the departures of Angel Di Maria and Wijnaldum, the replacement Vitinha from Porto. Paris went out in the most dramatic way against Real Madrid. Benzema broke the Parisians' hearts in just 17 minutes. You could argue it was Messi's first season and the team lacked a lot of chemistry. The defense could also be the blame but this season has little reasoning as to why failure should be on the table. Messi and Neymar seem to be extremely motivated. Both leading their countries this year in the World Cup so the bar is high this year. Paris should be able to sneak into the semi-finals with the best player in this sport. I do like this a lot out of all current options.
Real Madrid +1000 (Bet $100 to win $1000)
No Haaland. No Mbappe. No problem? The defending champions of Europe, The galacticos, are going with the same team as the last tournament. You can say it was a lucky season, but the mentality is what got them as far as they went. It was deserved for them to take the trophy back to Madrid. While their season was perfection, I do have doubts that they come close to that this season. League wise Barcelona should be a tough task, with little room for error this season the question is do they have enough to keep up? The historic Midfield that they have with Modric and Kroos will continue to do its job, Benzema and Vini will continue to connect and bring goals. One player who should be the difference this season is Eden Hazard. In his third year with the Spanish side, there has been little to offer for the 100 million man. Pure downhill due to injuries and struggles. But if Eden is back to his Chelsea form, this team can certainly make another lengthy run.
