The group drawing for the 2022 Champions League took place earlier today and it officially is time to start planning for elite European soccer once again. Every teams journey begins today as the group stage is set. The final is scheduled to take place in Istanbul, Turkey next year on June 10. The 32 clubs that qualified across Europe found out their fate today. Here's a look at the latest Champions League odds following the group stage draw.

Group A: Ajax, Liverpool, Napoli, Rangers

Group B: Porto, Atletico, Bayer Leverkusen, Club Brugge

Group C: Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Inter, Viktoria Plzen

Group D: Eintracht Frankfurt, Tottenham, Sporting, Marseille

Group Stage Draw Reaction

The Champions League draw took place in Istanbul, Turkey on Thursday. It quickly became realized as the draw of reunions for some of the biggest names in the sport of soccer. With Bayern Munich and Barcelona in the same group. Robert Lewandowski will face off against his former club Bayern Munich. Lewandowski spent 8 years with Bayern and it will likely be an emotional setting for him. Also in this group is Inter making Group C a candidate for the "Group of Death". Czech side Viktoria Plzen are extremely unlucky to be the fourth team in that group.

Liverpool and Rangers will meet in the group stage along with Napoli, and Ajax in Group A. This is arguably the toughest of all the groups. Tottenham will be ecstatic with their draw in Group D alongside Eintracht Frankfurt, Sporting, and Marseille. Antonio Conte's resurgent club are set up for success early on.

Meanwhile, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is set to face his old club Borussia Dortmund in Group G. Man City and Erling Haaland are the early favorites according to sportsbooks priced as low as +250 at some spots or an implied 28.6% chance to lift the trophy next June.

The reigning European Champions, Real Madrid, were drawn in Group F, where they will play RB Leipzig, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Celtic. Madrid won their 14th Champions League title when they capped a remarkable run in last year with a 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the final.

PSG are in arguably the softest group alongside Juventus, Benfica, and Maccabi Haifa. The Ligue 1 champions are still seeking a Champions League title with their trio of stars Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar. 2022 Champions League Schedule

The Champions League group stage will kick off on September 6-7. All matches will be played on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

What's notable about this season's schedule is that all six group matchdays will take place in the span of eight weeks in order to finish before the 2022 FIFA World Cup which is being played for the first time in November and December later this year. Typically the group stage is played over a 12 week period so strap up this fall as there is plenty of high leverage action to be played.

The draw for the 2022/23 Champions League Round of 16 will take place on November 7, 2022 only a few days after the group stage is completed. The entire Knockout round will be completed in 2023.

The draw for the remaining rounds (quarter-finals and semi-finals) of the knockout stage will take place on March 17, 2023.
