Rangers F.C. isn’t exactly known for European supremacy. The Scottish side has won just one European championship in the club’s history, the 1972 Cup Winners’ Cup. It’s been over a decade since Rangers F.C. have had any kind of meaningful success in European soccer, reaching the Europa League final in 2008.

That seems likely to change this year. Rangers hasn’t dropped a single game in the Europa League or the Scottish Premiership. In fact, the only loss in any 2020-2021 competition for Rangers came against St. Mirren in the Quarterfinals of the Scottish League Cup.  Rangers allowed just 9 goals in their full 30 game Scottish Premiership season.

To say Rangers are in top form would be an understatement. Bettors have certainly taken notice. After Rangers drew Slavia Prague in the Europa League, bettors flooded to them. 17% of all bets since the draw have been placed on Rangers, only Tottenham has more at 25%.

If Rangers were able to continue their unbeaten run and win the Europa League, they’d be the first Scottish team to win a major European competition since Aberdeen won the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1983. Rangers would become the first Scottish team to win the Europa Cup, Celtic won the Champions League in 1967.
