MLS Odds: Favorite Seattle Sounders Have 20% Chance To Win MLS Cup
The MLS regular season is well underway, and through 15 games the Seattle Sounders have looked like far and away the best team in the entire league. Seattle has lost just one game this season and it came about a week ago against Minnesota. Other than that lone misstep, the team has been unbeatable.
So, it’s no wonder that the latest MLS odds have the Seattle Sounders as the clear MLS Cup favorites so far this season. But, just because MLS odds have a clear favorite doesn’t mean there isn’t space for an upset as the season moves along.
In the MLS Eastern conference, both Orlando City and New England look to be two of the best teams in the league, and their odds reflect it. We’ll break down MLS odds, including MLS Cup Odds, Eastern Conference and Western Conference futures and odds for the league’s top goal scorer.
MLS Odds: Eastern Conference Futures
We told you already that Seattle is dominating the Western Conference. But, what about the MLS Eastern Conference?
Well, through 15 games it’s the New England Revolution that has a commanding lead with 30 points. They’re five points clear of Orland, who sits at 25 points through 14 games.
It’s been New England’s high-powered attack that has kept them atop the Eastern Conference so far this season. Both Gustavo Bou and Adam Buksa lead the team with seven goals apiece, and the 28 goals scored by the Revolution so far this season are the most in the entire league.
Still, despite their sharp play, the latest MLS odds have Orlando City as the favorite to win the East, not the New England Revolution.
Orlando sits at +200 to win the East, odds implying a 33.3% chance they win it, while New England’s +275 odds are indicative of a 26.7% chance.
The Philadelphia Union, which hold onto third place in the conference, have the third shorted Eastern Conference odds at +400.
MLS Odds: Western Conference Futures
It’ll come as no surprise to hear that the latest MLS odds have the Seattle Sounders as the overwhelming pick to win the Western Conference.
In the Eastern Conference there are at least two teams, potentially three, that oddsmakers consider contenders. In the West, it’s Seattle as the clear favorite with odds much shorter than the second favorite.
Seattle’s odds to win the MLS Western Conference this season currently sit at +150, not much shorter than Orlando’s +200 odds in the East. But, the Colorado Rapids, which have the second shortest odds out West, have +750 odds to win the conference.
At +150, Seattle’s implied probability to win the West sits at 40%. With +750 odds, Colorado is given an 11.8% implied chance, making Seattle almost four times as likely to win the conference.
So we know that Orlando City, New England and Seattle all seem to have similar odds when it comes to winning their conference, but which team has the best MLS Cup odds? It’s none other than than Seattle Sounders, who won an MLS Cup in 2019, that have the best odds in 2021.
Seattle’s 32 points through 15 games is the most in either conference. They’ve only allowed an incredible nine goals this season and oddsmakers have put their odds at +400 to win the 2021 MLS Cup. That’s a whopping 40% chance to win even though we’re only 15 games through the season.

|New England Revolution||+1200|
|Sporting Kansas City||+1200|
So we know which teams the oddsmakers expect to finish at the top this year. But, what do the latest MLS odds say about the league’s top goalscorer? Well, if it’s possible, that race is even more lopsided in the favor of the Sounders than the MLS Cup odds.
In 15 appearances this season, Seattle’s Raul Ruidiaz has scored an amazing 12 goals, making him the leading goalscorer to this point, and the latest MLS odds don’t see that changing any time soon.
Ruidiaz is +200 to finish as the leading scorer in the MLS. The second favorite to finish as the leading scorer, Daniel Salloi, is sitting at eight goals with +1600 odds.
